Hotel at a Glance: Cedar Crest Inn

Nestled on a lovingly tended three‑acre estate, Cedar Crest Inn stands proudly as Asheville’s longest‑running historic inn and the closest such retreat to the iconic Biltmore Estate. The centerpiece, a regal Queen Anne pink‑lady mansion dating from 1891, exudes the elegance and grandeur of a bygone era, yet welcomes guests with warmth and a sense of storied heritage. With over three decades of hospitality, the inn blends refined Victorian architecture with a sense of romantic comfort, ideal for those seeking a memorable and historically rich stay.

Just a few blocks from Biltmore Village and merely a mile from downtown Asheville and the River Arts District, Cedar Crest Inn marries convenience with character. Guests enjoy free parking on site, complimentary wireless internet, freshly baked goods, locally roasted coffee and teas, and a continental breakfast served daily in the elegant dining rooms—all included in the rate. Whether you unwind on the veranda overlooking manicured gardens or venture into Asheville’s vibrant galleries, breweries, and live‑music venues, the inn offers a refined yet approachable base steeped in Western North Carolina pride.

Asheville, NC: Where Appalachian Heritage Meets Artistic Soul

Tucked into the scenic embrace of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, North Carolina, is a city that pulses with the pride of its Appalachian roots and the creative energy of a thriving arts scene. Once a strategic hub for railroads and trade in the early 20th century, Asheville has gracefully preserved its architectural legacy—most notably the Biltmore Estate, America’s largest privately owned home, which stands as a testament to Gilded Age grandeur. Strolling through downtown reveals a trove of Art Deco facades, historic buildings, and independent galleries, reflecting a community fiercely devoted to its cultural identity.

Nature and nurture exist in harmony here. The nearby Blue Ridge Parkway offers sweeping vistas and access to some of the region’s most stunning hiking trails and waterfalls, while the city itself brims with farm-to-table restaurants, microbreweries, and music venues that capture the spirit of local innovation. Asheville’s history as a health resort in the 19th century now feeds into its modern reputation as a wellness and outdoor recreation destination. At every turn, from mountaintop sunrise to the drum circles of Pack Square, Asheville invites exploration, reflection, and the rediscovery of American heritage at its most soulful.

Wonderful way at Cedar Crest! This beautiful home was in a great location near downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate! Convenient getting in and out, it was a perfect home base for all the things we did. Breakfast was yummy and we thoroughly enjoyed dining on the porch each morning. The hostesses were friendly and informative, and checking in and out was a breeze! We’d definitely recommend staying here, and would absolutely stay again!

Cedar Crest Inn a great retreat What a gem! Cedar Crest Inn provides the kind of gracious hospitality we all enjoy -- friendly, accommodating staff; comfortable, lovely rooms; convenient location. Asheville -- less than a year since Hurricane Helene ravaged Western North Carolina -- has much to offer and Cedar Crest is the perfect place to explore and enjoy it all. Our group of friends especially enjoyed breakfast on the wide porch and the extra room to relax in the Carriage House.

Great stay in the pink house Excellent stay at a very well run bed and breakfast. This may be the nicest B&B we’ve ever stayed in. Great food, good attention to detail. The rooms we had were spotless and very comfortable. Highly recommended for a stay in Asheville. You won’t be disappointed!

Everything we expected! From the moment we laid eyes on the Inn we knew it was going to be a great stay. The interior lobby and meeting areas were just beautiful with gorgeous woodworking craftsmanship all around. The grounds were amazing. Fireflies abound. Our room was very quaint and very quiet. We have already recommended the Inn to family and friends. Thank you for great stay. The Henry Family AZ
