Competitively Priced and Comfortable There are a lot of previous negative reviews, but this hotel does seem to be making progress in remodeling. Well, we were looking forward to a Poconos ski weekend getaway, and we did not need a big waterpark hotel that costs a lot. The Chateau Resort was the perfect solution--the hotel is in a fantastic location, and the resort is spacious and pretty comfortable. The price here at the Chateau hotel was very reasonable for a busy weekend, and the hotel is actually in walking distance to the local ski resort, which is great because parking is free at the hotel, unlike the ski resort. Our King bedroom was large, comfortable, clean, with a big bathroom with a very nice hot shower. The little heater was a bit noisy but very strong, so I had to shut if off after a few hours. We had a refrigerator, iron, and safe and lots of storage space. The hotel has a game room, an indoor pool, a workout area, and a restaurant. The lobby is very clean and has a lovely long gas fireplace. Yes, the furniture may be a bit outdated, but overall the resort is a smart choice to be near all of the outside activity in the Poconos mountains, but not break the budget. I do agree they need a big sign to showcase their location!

Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains: Hiking, Trout Fishing, and Historical Towns

The Poconos region of northeastern Pennsylvania accounts for some 2,400 square miles of mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and forests. The area has been a popular vacation destination ever since Pennsylvania Quakers opened a hotel here on the Delaware River in 1829. Today, the Poconos draw more than 25 million annual visitors, thanks to year-round recreational opportunities and stunning natural scenery.

The warmer months are a great time to explore the region’s lakes and wooded hills. For spectacular hikes, check out Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, where you can trek to dramatic waterfalls or follow a 27-mile section of the historic Appalachian Trail. A handful of little towns full of antique shops and galleries nestle in the mountains, too. You'll find boutique wine galleries and historical mansions tucked away on country roads, including the late 19th-century Asa Packer Mansion, which is open for tours, in the borough of Jim Thorpe.

Dog friendly but not worth the stay. Try somewhere else. Negatives: The wing I was in was in desperate need of a make over. My room had a funky, musty smell. The windows didn't open so I couldn't air it out. The AC didn't work very well. It was loud and the temperature didn't change when the knob was turned. The room looked clean but was very dated and looked grungy. The pillows were old, flat and lumpy. The soap and toilet tissue were about as cheap as you can get. Over priced. Positives: The bed was comfortable. They allowed dogs. The food in the restaurant was good and the waitstaff was attentive and nice. The television worked well. Front desk staff was kind and efficient. Overall: If you need a last minute place for you and your dog this suits the need but don't expect to be ultra comfortable.

Don’t let the online photos fool you Don’t be fooled by the photos this place look worse than a homeless shelter. Pure filth!!!! There were bugs in the chair and along the thermostat the bath tub was either eroding or just breaking up but no way could anyone bathe there. There was mold in every corner of the bathroom .The carpet was filthy all over the resort I went to the 3rd floor thinking .maybe I just got a dirty floor.the third floor was dirty as well I thought to my self no wonder it was $80 on a Wednesday .the breakfast is for purchase there is no complimentary. I’m glad I was alone and only booked for one day. They know they are up in the mountains and it’s not easy to find another location. Take my word and find something else.

If mice bother you, this isn’t your hotel Stayed here for two nights this past weekend with my fiancé and parents. The place being outdated was the least of our problems. The furniture is falling apart, wall paper is peeling, AC is so loud when it kicks on it was impossible to sleep. The place smells awful and just feels filthy. There were hoards of unsupervised children running rampant in the lobby and through the hallways at all hours, leaving garbage on the floors and playing on the luggage carts like a jungle gym. Our room was not cleaned despite being gone all day long. The worst part is that my parents were awoken at midnight to a mouse rummaging through their things… to which the front desk associate replied that it was odd they finally made it up to the third floor. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. This place should be condemned.

Worst experience ever There's nothing good that i would say about my last stay at that hotel. i had an event scheduled. This was my 3 events. The hotel never advised me that the entire main floor was under construction. This was a very important event. The ballroom was smelly, the changing room smelly and hot. Complaints made from the first day. when I asked Michele why she didn't tell me about the construction --"Her answer what were you going to do Cancel, you have a contract I told her my contract didn't say my business and clients would be walking into a full construction in addition, i became very allergic to the huge amount of dust. The sleeping area closest to the door was dusty, moldy and smelly. all the furniture covered; the reception area covered. Our guest sleeping room, bathroom leaking with nothing done. This was a great hotel. i honestly, cannot say that after my experience. as of today, No one at the hotel, the GM or owner returned my email or call. This is highly unprofessional and a shame.
