Horrible Horrible hotel. Booked for a baseball game and during check in they told me that they had no rooms and that my reservation is not valid because they have new owners. No one emails or informed me. Multiple people are currently in the lobby dealing with the same issue. Do not stay here or park at the hotel parking across the street.

Undisclosed fees more than hotel stay cost; GRRR. Undisclosed FEE SCAM ALERT: As others have noted, I pre-booked using flight miles so my stay should have been no cost. A security deposit did not surprise me, but when the front desk clerk told me I owed $266 for my two-night stay, I was surprised. I showed my receipt and confirmation number for my booked stay paid by AAdvantage miles and they said that the fee was for some "special package" and was non-negotiable. I feel that I paid twice for the hotel and was hoodwinked. They handed me a shopping bag of bottled waters and two breakfast coupons, the "special non-negotiable guest package." $266 for water bottles and two breakfast coupons. I am pissed, to say the least. Now that I've read the other reviews for this month in 2025, I see I am not alone in my experience. The hotel is very out-of-date, in need of a deep clean, and the "non-negotiable" complementary breakfast was poor as well. Another guest complained in the elevator (they were from the UK) that, "this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at." Agreed.

Dirty We pre booked. The hotel would not honor the rate telling me it was sold and the new owner, the Chicago Hotel Collection, had no obligation to do so. The jr. suite included a filthy (generously stained) carpet, a lumpy sofa and a general feeling of a bygone era using IKEA furnishings. The GM with whom I dealt was aggressive and oddly condescending.

Poorly run at best, and scammy (more likely) As many others have noted, at best this is a HORRIBLY run hotel, and worst (and perhaps more likely) it's some sort of scam. We booked a room for May back in March when it was owned by Hyatt. It was then sold, which we happened to notice because Google listed it as "closed." I called the hotel and spoke with the front desk to confirm our reservation was still valid. They confirmed it. I then called again, because we had not specifically confirmed that the price would remain the same. They confirmed that as well. When we showed up in May: they had cancelled the reservation, and they had given us no notification at all. No email, no call, nothing. The hotel was allegedly fully booked, and they refused to do ANYTHING to assist us. They would not recommend or call other hotels in the same group, nothing. As bad as it was that this happened to us, as I spent hours on the phone in the lobby trying to find alternate accommodations, I observed no fewer than 7 other guests that arrived only to find that their reservations had been cancelled without notice. On top of the fact that we were left without a room after having confirmed it TWICE, they were rude, disinterested, and entirely lacking in empathy. And as this issue has apparently plagued dozens and dozens of guests over time, they are taking no action to rectify it. Management: Send an email to the rooms you have canceled. This isn't rocket science.

Weird $90 a night + 18% additional fee not mentioned until check in? BEWARE. So disappointed. Arrived to find out there is an additional $90 per night on top of booked cost AND 18% added onto total after that mandatory fee. Everyone at the hotel was confused or pissed about that being thrown on you after booking with what you thought was a final cost. You are told at the front desk with a small printed sign. Nowhere was this mentioned prior. Dreaded gentleman at front desk was nice. Bartender was nice. But everything was clouded by the fact I was surprised at check in on a two night stay with a mandatory additional $225. Two free drinks per night and free breakfast does not make up for this being thrown on you without notice. Literally every guest we overheard mentioned something and was not happy about it. Decent hotel outside of that but I would not go back.
