Wisconsin Dells: Picturesque Scenery and Family Entertainment

Before the Dells became synonymous with water parks and amusement rides, the Midwestern destination’s claim to fame was its scenery. Visitors in the mid-1940s came to see the craggy rock formations that frame both sides of the Wisconsin River. These bluffs—or dells—are still visible today from the downtown area, which is rife with kitschy attractions, from mini-golf courses to go-kart tracks.

But it’s safe to say that most visitors nowadays come for the water parks. In fact, the Dells area likely has more water slides per capita than any other spot on the planet. The fun doesn’t stop in the cooler months, either, thanks to a slew of indoor aquatic centers, many of which are nearly as elaborate as their outdoor rivals.

the free breakfast made this deal so much worth it, there was a decent variety of food for both adults and kids. the water park was the best part of the stay, we could not get the kids out of the water. the whole indoor water park was operational and well manned by numerous life guards. we will be coming back in the summer.

Great Family Vacation We stayed in one of the two bedroom condos, it was very clean, modern and had plenty of space for our family. Staff was always friendly and helpful and the water parks were also clean. Due to staffing issues certain parts of the water park would be closed on different days, and both the indoor and outdoor parks closed at 7:00 pm. But considering we are still dealing with Covid, and they are not able to have their normal numbers of employees for the summer, they really provided a wonderful family vacation!

Dumped at the "dog friendly villas" We had a horrible stay. We witnessed a drug deal outside of the building our villas, garbage was piled across from our room including flies and smell, the elevator had balls of hair on the floor, painting through the hall was chipped and poorly maintained, the bed was broken with loose metal rings sticking through the pull-out couch, and at the pool the next day a wasp nest was on the curtains of our “pool cabana.” I also had multiple requests for new towels to no avail. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to connect with anyone in guest services. I did not see any hotel staff on our property, and the property shows that. The place is a cheap hotel dressed up with a waterpark! For the past 7 days I have made 11 phone calls, I have left 4 different voice messages, and spoke to 2 supervisors. Sometimes, service can erase any of the other details. The services only enhanced the other items.

3 day getaway We had a great room at the Villa. It was quiet and very comfortable. The room had a large refrigerator which was great to keep our fruit, food and drinks cold and not have to mess with a cooler and ice. Bathroom was stocked with plenty of towels. Wasn't too crowded so easy to get to outdoor park slides and indoor. Wish we would have had more time to stay longer.
