Seaside, Oregon: Coastal Beauty Surrounding a Family-Friendly Town

Located along Oregon’s Pacific coast, about 80 miles northwest of Portland, the resort town of Seaside has attracted beachcombers since the late 19th century. More recently, the coastal village has become a family destination marked by historical buildings, tree-lined boulevards, and plenty of kid-friendly activities, including mini golf, bumper cars, and arcades.

A 1.5-mile oceanfront promenade—known locally as the Prom—stretches along the beach, its boardwalk speckled with shops and restaurants near grass-covered dunes. Along the Prom, you’ll find a bronze statue of Lewis and Clark that faces the ocean at the historic Seaside Turnaround—the spot where the explorers are thought to have ended their epic westward trek. The Seaside Aquarium is also located along the promenade. Pop in to visit its aquatic residents, including a giant Pacific octopus, tropical fish, and several crowd-pleasing harbor seals.

Perfect getaway, nice staff and clean room. It was so close to the beach, we didn’t drive anywhere because it’s walking distance from everything around it.

Terrible experience After paying for the room. Front desk refused to give us a room. Said they do not rent to locals. They also took our money and refused to issue any kind of refund. Left me and my wife in a very bad situation, and insisted that i get out of their office and off of their property immediately

What happened to Hospitality? Front staff from the time you check in to the time you check out our rude. I forgot a piece of personal items there and they were quite rude about it their staff that comes in and cleans the room, offers towels, etc. were quite rude as well. Also when I left to take my dog out to the bathroom of course I have my poop bags and everything but it seems like one of their staff members suddenly appear and wondering what you were doing, not friendly at all am I policy is I know we all need jobs? We need money but if you knew your that’s your job and hospitality, then you leave what you need at home and try your best to take care of the people that are coming in. also last but not least when we were making the reservations they were rude and not listening to when we put our names in and we were verifying that it had been taken place. We had to call back twice to get that taken care of and I could keep going on, but I probably already sound like a Karen and I don’t mean to be but it’s tough right now and leaving that kind of impression on your guest, including the ones that were waiting for us to get done and I heard how they talk to them. It’s not very good.
