Orlando, Florida: World-Famous Theme Parks and Cultural Surprises

Located in the center of Florida, Orlando may be forever associated with the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks—the world’s most-visited entertainment resort. Spanning roughly 30,000 acres, it encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, and five golf courses. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. Walk across the park to sample Moroccan cuisine for lunch, or ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. Before heading back to the hotel, take in the nightly fireworks, laser, and water show. One of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is also home to Universal Orlando—which includes The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—SeaWorld, and Gatorland.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando's vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which hosts family-friendly improv shows five nights a week.

Would not recommend We booked the hotel for 8 nights, where 1 of these nights we spent in Miami, so for 7 nights in Coco Key Resort we were moved between 3 rooms. In my opinion it really depends what are your expectetations towards the hotel and what do you value while on holidays. We didn't like the hotel personally. Its more like motel rather than a hotel. Rooms are smelly and old, my boyfriend has asthma and his chest was very heavy while in the room. I was waking up at night with breathing difficulties. First room we changed because for some reason we have got room for people with disabilities on our booking I thought it was mistake so emailed the hotel with the question got response that they will make a note and see what they can do on arrival day. When we arrived there were 2 rooms booked in confusion but it got sorted fast. We finally got into room for disabled people. Bathroom was like a wetroom and I didn't mind it except for the fact that the water was escaping from the shower curtain and with no tray to catch it the water spread everywhere. We asked to change the room. Have to say the staff was very helpful. Next room - smelly again, damp in the air and heavy breathing in there, depressing and dark but had normal bathtube. While having a shower in the bathtube around midnight a big and very fast roach showed up, my daughter started to scream in panic. We went to recepntion the room was changed but didn't hear any word of apology like it would be a common thing around the hotel having roaches in the room - which it actally is common in this hotel. We weren't the only guests having roaches problem. The last room was exactly as the previos, smelly and all but no bugs. We were desparate. Didn't get any rest there and at night we had feeling like something is walking on us. The breakfast very poor no vegetables at all. Eggs, beacon, pastries. Like for a "resort" very poor. The service was slow looked like they are understaffed. One day we arrived to designated place for breakfast. No table available, but about 5 tables were empty they just needed to be cleaned up, no one to look after them on the go. You have to go and ask about it. Same as if the when the food runs out you have to mention that to the staff it is not being topped up as its running low. We value comfort and clean room while on holidays. It wasn't our place to be, photos looks amazing but in real life it is nothing like in photos.

Great Hotel! Great hotel, friendly staff. Rooms clean and spacious. Got the refurbished rooms for no extra cost but would definitely pay for these if we come back in the future. Really modern and bright. Great location and perfect hotel if you want a chilled day away from the parks.

Basic but perfect Basic accom but perfect for what we wanted. NOTE it’s no longer the side the ferry from Panama City docks at so you need a taxi across the island. There is a lovely beach very near by and they have a small shop and cafe place but we really couldn’t work out the opening times. It was very random but that may be as it was over Xmas
