Orlando, Florida: World-Famous Theme Parks and Cultural Surprises

Located in the center of Florida, Orlando may be forever associated with the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks—the world’s most-visited entertainment resort. Spanning roughly 30,000 acres, it encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, and five golf courses. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. Walk across the park to sample Moroccan cuisine for lunch, or ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. Before heading back to the hotel, take in the nightly fireworks, laser, and water show. One of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is also home to Universal Orlando—which includes The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—SeaWorld, and Gatorland.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando's vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which hosts family-friendly improv shows five nights a week.

Cute, Fun for the kiddos Very cute place for a quick visit, nice property and water area. Specifically for the kids they had tons of fun. Rooms were good, clean. AC was working perfect. Only sad part is that the Arcade had no one working at the time we went and my kiddos could not redeem their tickets they won. So we walked away with nothing. They were not happy and we lost out on redeeming tickets.

Book somewhere else So I booked paid in full and when I arrived I was hit with additional fees. Resort fees and breakfast totaling almost $400 extra. This was day one. The room was nasty. Hotel reminds you of the 80’s. Dated with poor amenities. The mattresses are from the early 90’s. Zero comfort there. Never got a good night sleep. Day 2 we went to breakfast. That was instant eggs over cooked bacon, sausage patties that were cooked to hockey pucks. No cups for juice we had to use coffee cups that were turned over on a shelf and left wet to dry. The breakfast tables are sticky like waffle house and the chairs are upholstered they look like they’re from the early 90s and extremely dirty. The advertise pictures for the waterpark make it look so nice but when you get there you’re like where’s the rest of the waterpark pictures are taken from angles to make everything look larger than it is and the waterpark staff is quick to shut down if it gets cloudy. My overall rating is a -5 stars never ever ever ever again. The hotel staff is nice along with housekeeping staff. The waterpark staff is rude. They worried more about talking with each other then watching out for guest safety

Quick Family Vacation - Pros & Cons There is no sign for directions to the hotel! That part was a little confusing for our Uber drivers to find/drop off. The building has been kept up very well. You can tell that it is older but they definitely re-invest back in the property. The landscape is amazing and so pretty. All of the staff seemed to be nice when we had questions. A few complaints that we feel could be addressed to improve the hotel and stay for others. It’s August so weather is always hit or miss with storms. Our largest complaint is that even when the storms passed they never reopened the Waterpark; and that’s the sole reason we booked this hotel. Staff kept giving different radiuses for closing down the pools/park. One member told us 10 miles (which is INSANE), one told us 5 and one told us 8. Discovery Cove does a 3 mile radius; so I have no clue what they’re trying to do. The bartenders are very unattentitive. At one point there were 4 in the corner just standing around talking. Lastly is the price of the Arcade games. They’re absolutely ridiculous. Chuck-E-Cheese is directly across the street and very much more affordable. The rooms were very clean. Housekeeping came every day and did a phenomenal job also. The food was very good to be hotel/bar food. We had pizza, salad and a chicken sandwich. We would be on the fence to book again just because of how they were so quick to close the Waterpark and never reopened it even after the afternoon storms would pass.
