Orlando, Florida: World-Famous Theme Parks and Cultural Surprises

Located in the center of Florida, Orlando may be forever associated with the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks—the world’s most-visited entertainment resort. Spanning roughly 30,000 acres, it encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, and five golf courses. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. Walk across the park to sample Moroccan cuisine for lunch, or ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. Before heading back to the hotel, take in the nightly fireworks, laser, and water show. One of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is also home to Universal Orlando—which includes The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—SeaWorld, and Gatorland.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando's vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which hosts family-friendly improv shows five nights a week.

Surprisingly great! Great hotel and in a central location to go down the road to Universal and SeaWorld. Lovely and modern in the lobby and around the pools, outside areas. They were very accommodating to our needs on arrival and we were placed in an appropriate room which was quiet and spacious. The inside of the room was a bit dated and could do with an upgrade at some point to reflect the rest of the hotel. It had everything we needed and our beds were made up, fresh towels and the room was cleaned on a daily basis, we were surprised to get back to a tidy and clean room after breakfast each day. We had the buffet breakfast there most days and were given 20% off and kids ate free so worked out a great price. Food was good and lots of choice. Starbucks on site was another favourite for breakfast and coffees. There was a small food and gift shop on site. The water park was fun, only used once as we spent most of our time at the Universal parks. The swimming pools were great and towels for the pools were provided as well as room towels. Ubers to universal were around 5-10 dollars per trip, mostly the lower end. Our stay was great and would definitely consider returning again in the future.

A disappointing room but a good location for the Parks. Coco key hotel on International Drive. The room, was large clean and tidy. Aircon worked well. However, the tap in the sink had been replaced, but there was no lever to open the plug, meaning i had to reach underneath to find what was left of the lever to empty the sink. I had to repair the toilet cistern because the flush mechanism failed. The bath tap ran constantly because it needed a new washer. The room smelled damp. Ut had two interconnecting doors meaning we heard the neighbours clearly. It was a good base but given that it was not considerably cheaper than Universal it was disappointing. Overall, we would not stay here again.

One day experience- not a good one I would not stay at this hotel for more than 1 day. It is an old hotel and the walls are not sound proof. It feels like you live with the person next door to you. I actually felt scared that someone was in the room. That’s how loud it was , and we had to keep it super quiet. It was a one day nightmare.
