Laughlin, Nevada: Sunny Gaming Destination near the Hoover Dam

Laughlin is about 100 miles south of Las Vegas, but it’s a gaming destination in its own right. At the city’s nine casinos, there are plenty of slots and poker tables, and bingo is big here. You can find regular bingo games at the Riverside and the River Palms.

Laughlin averages 300 sunny days a year—a fine climate for exploring natural and manmade wonders. To get in touch with nature, hit up Big Bend State Recreation Area to go hiking along the Colorado River. For a manmade spectacle, head about 80 miles north to Boulder City to see the famous Hoover Dam, which sends thousands of gallons of water tumbling 70 stories into Black Canyon every day. Though its sheer size is captivating, you’ll also appreciate the dam’s surprisingly elegant art-deco design.

How to ruin an old favorite This hotel/ casino got bought out recently by the group that owns Aquarius. I have been visiting the Colorado Belle for about 20 years, but I think I am done with them. One of the really nice things there was the restaurant and brewery called "Pints. A quality brewery so, of course they are closing it. CHEAPED out the eatery, too. Best things off the menu, drastic reduction in staff. I talked to employees that I have known for years, and they report disillusionment is rampant among the staff. You name it, and everything has taken a huge nosedive. Of course, Covid 19 has closed them temporarily, and it might be for the best until management figures out that "hack jobs instituted by efficiency experts can ruin your rep.

None Have been coming to The Belle just about every month except the winter for over 35 years now. Excellent experience each time. I can understand that not everyone will have a trouble-free visit because it is inevitable. Life works that way. However, I give 5 stars for my experience. Receil W. Seymour. Los Angeles.

Yes, it is very inexpensive This hotel falls in the category of "you get what you pay for". At $25 a night, yes, you can't expect much. So, be prepared for a hotel that needs a really good cleaning. On the plus side, the bedding is very clean, and so is the bathroom.
