Buyer Beware! Beware of a bait and switch. On June 14 my reservation was confirmed for a 3rd floor ocean front room for June 20 arrival, June 22 departure. On June 19 they notify me that the room is not available due to a maintenance issue. They offer me an 11th floor parking lot view, at no additional cost. Buyer beware!

Drastic improvements!!! We are currently here right now. We go to Myrtle Beach every year, it has become our tradition. At the beginning, we used to stay at a motel called the "Sea Horn”. The motel was a great place until it was sold to new owners in 2016. Long story short, the motel became a dump and we switched to the "Compass Cove” and we were impressed. We stayed at the "Compass Cove” for our MB trips from 2016-2023. The first few years, we loved it, however in about 2021 we began to notice that the "Compass Cove” was becoming a dump and the last straw was when we found a roach on the bed back in 2023, needless to say in 2024 we stayed at another place, because we were tired of roaches and other flaws that came with the Compass Cove. This year in February, we got a brochure from the Compass Cove saying that they have updated and we got interested in giving them another try, so we booked this weekend trip about a month ago. We were skeptical and we were thinking about whether or not we should give them another shot or not. We were not sure what to expect, but we decided to go along with it. After completing this weekend, we are glad that we did give them another shot and we are surprised with the improvements. The rooms have new furniture, Smart TVs, updated bathrooms, kitchens, new appliances, as well as new flooring. Another important thing-(the most important) is that the rooms are very clean-(a lot cleaner than in the past). Finally, there were no ROACHES in sight! I didn’t even see them outside let alone inside and when we used to come here, there was a ton of them outside on the hotel premises, but I have not seen one now! To conclude this review, we had a very nice stay and we will definitely be back at the "Compass Cove” next time we come to Myrtle Beach. It isn’t a fancy place, but it has definitely been modernized and that is all that matters! All I can say is, keep up the amazing work and keep being ROACH FREE!!!!!

No no no Where to start with this resort?! My son and I arrived on 6/14 for a baseball tournament. I spent $1600 to stay at a oceanside view here from the 14-21st. Upon check-in we were given a room on the 11th floor. This room had holes in carpet, holes in the wall, the air conditioning unit was literally falling apart, and that mattresses were dirty. We contacted the front desk and they sent housekeeping up, housekeepings reply "we have been telling them about this room for a week." I'm sorry...what? So they knew about it and STILL put us in the room?...NICE! The front desk then sent us to another room on the 9th floor which ALSO had a hole in the wall and hole in the carpet_ at this point I feel like I being punked. They then send us to the 2nd floor for another room. This room is at least passable not clean, still had liquid stains on the sheets and blankets but I call for them to come and change and they do. So the next morning (Sun) prior to leaving for the tournament and I head to front desk to speak to the on duty mgr about what we had to endure yesterday. I explain to the mgr the situation and she said ok, we will refund you the one night stay and taxes. Ok cool, I'm not difficult to get along with as long as you have accountability. Mon,Tues, Wed go by and nothing returned. I go Thurs afternoon, speak to another mgr on duty, she tells me, she isn't sure who said that but she will find out and give me a call. Fri afternoon rolls around and.... surprise no call! So I return to the front desk Fri evening and speak to the Mgr on duty and she says she sees on my account were they refunded me $100 __‍♂️ ma'am that is your hold charge NOT the refund...so she's says give her two seconds and she call my room but....you guessed no call ever came...until Sat morning when I get a random call at 8am from a male mgr saying they were having an issue with the system and needed my credit card. I go down only for the front desk to tell me they have no male mgrs and that was a scam. This stay was truly unacceptable, from the room conditions to the lack of accountability in service. If I had to do it all again, I would stay far away. Don't stay here!
