10-Day Conference Experience - Resounding Success Stay Dates: October 7th - 16th, 2025 Group: Multi-faceted conference group (36 attendees , including 6 Senior Leadership Members) Planner Location: Nashville, TN (Never been onsite) Our recent 10-day conference at The Courtland Grand Hotel in Atlanta was a highly successful event, supported by the exceptional support and coordination of their staff. Planning a multi-faceted event of this size from Nashville, TN, without ever being onsite, was simplified by a team that made the entire process efficient and the execution highly professional. Every staff member we interacted with demonstrated professionalism and a commitment to guest service. Pre-Planning and Booking The planning process began with Kaya, who provided an excellent introduction to the hotel. She answered my initial inquiry instantly and dedicated significant time to countless phone calls, emails, and video walkthroughs to showcase the property, rooms, and meeting spaces. Her support made planning easy, and she connected me with trusted vendor partners for AV and transportation, proving to be a valuable resource. Once confirmed, Latoya became a reliable source of truth. This was a significant event and my first time planning a conference of this scale, and Latoya was an impressive professional. She was wonderfully patient, answering my repeated questions, and tirelessly managed details for the team to ensure our 10-day onsite experience was seamless. Her support extended to the final day, where she assisted with a last-minute room change due to the onsite Community Event and marching band. The new location, Georgia Hall, proved to be an impressive, quieter setting that allowed our attendees to give their full attention to the presenters. John also deserves recognition for helping with the many room adjustments needed after our initial final changes. His support was crucial in ensuring all our attendees had their assigned rooms correctly processed. Outstanding Facilities and Ambiance Beyond the exceptional staff, the hotel's facilities match their represented images. The Executive Boardroom was perfect for our 6 Senior Leaders to meet during the first half of our stay, providing an ideal executive environment. Additionally, our Senior Leaders reserved the Wine Room within Fandangles for their Welcome Dinner, finding it to be a quaint and roomy setting that offered a private atmosphere away from the regular hustle and bustle. We utilized the Athens Meeting room for our Welcome Dinner, which comfortably accommodated our entire 36-person group on their first day, and the Georgia Hall served as an excellent classroom setting on our final day. The courtyard is exactly as expected and became a favored spot for many of our attendees to utilize for casual networking. For personal downtime, my favorite spots to work were the Skyview Terrace and the quiet lounge area just around the corner from the Starbucks, both of which offered a strong Wi-Fi connection and little foot traffic. Catering and Event Execution The hotel’s dedicated event staff ensured all our culinary and space needs were met with speed and grace. Chester was exceptionally quick in setting up and managing the catering needs for our Senior Leadership Team in the Executive Boardroom. His promptness and willingness to help stood out when he facilitated a quick room change so our CEO could utilize the boardroom for an important interview. We greatly valued Chester’s resourcefulness. Antonio was instrumental in securing the catering and space for our Welcome Dinner for the entire 36-person group. This was the biggest event I organized for this stay, and it went very smoothly. He granted me early access to the room to place my decorations, which was a huge relief and helped ease my pre-event anxiety. Both he and his staff were incredibly courteous and welcoming to all our attendees. Onsite Logistics and Problem-Solving The sheer scale of this event meant changes were inevitable, and the team handled every adjustment with efficiency and calm. Bree was critical during our two most demanding days. We had several unexpected issues arise, and she was quick to help me with my endless questions and several changes—sometimes occurring every 30 minutes as events unfolded. Bree was helpful, eager to assist, and ensured all necessary changes were made for our group. For our attendees driving in, Vivan provided excellent support with the valet system, which was easy for our folks to understand and utilize. Finally, as I was leaving for the airport, Gwendolyn at the Front Desk assisted me with my last task: shipping boxes home. She was extremely helpful, explaining the shipping process and aiding me in printing the necessary labels, all while expertly balancing her core front desk duties. Safety, Security, and Seamless Operational Support The environment at the hotel, even with concurrent large groups (a Nursing Conference, the Bills vs. Falcons NFL game crowd, and the Kroger Community Day event), felt consistently safe and well-managed. Sergeant Hambrick and the Entire Security Team had significant responsibilities, and every time I saw a member of this team, I felt confident in the hotel's security. They were all pleasant to interact with. The Front Desk Staff were consistently pleasant, professional, and helpful. Despite a consistent line each night until about 7 PM during our stay, they greeted every guest with a strong level of professionalism. Any issue brought to them was met with a quick response, as they immediately used their radios to connect with the appropriate team member for speedy rectification. The Housekeeping staff provided a true testament to the strong communication across all teams. When I needed help unboxing the 62 individual boxes that arrived for our event, I believe it took only three minutes from the time they were paged until they were at my door, ready to help. Summary The success of our 10-day conference truly rests on the responsiveness and partnership demonstrated by every team member named above. Their collective effort ensured a smooth, successful stay for our entire group. We highly recommend The Courtland Grand for complex events, as their staff—from pre-planning to checkout—sets a strong standard for professional, attentive service.

Dated and badly needs updating Stayed here for a convention at the GWCC. It is one of the farthest hotels from GWCC, but is similar in distance to other hotels in the areas. It's about 0.7-0.8 miles up and down a hill. I was not impressed, but overall if all you need is a place to sleep, then this may be ok. I had an interior room in the North tower overlooking the pool courtyard. There was a strong smell of chlorine. This interior room was dark with no natural light, and I could easily hear pool noises. Thankfully, pool hours seem to be enforced at night. Lighting in the hallways is dim, and the entire property is due for a major overhaul. The room: Not well cared for. The door to the room did not operate smoothly, the AC thermostat seems not to work. Changing the fan speed did nothing, nor did changing the thermostat setting. The in-room safe was not working, nor was the room phone. When I arrived, there was no extra toilet paper, which could be a problem since they only offer housekeeping every 3rd day (or in my case, 4th day). This was provided promptly upon request, but I had to go downstairs in person (see nonfunctional room phone). My bedside lamp did not turn on. However, this was simply because it was not plugged in. But how was this not discovered when cleaning the room from the last guest? Do they clean the room in the dark? I had a door to an interior balcony--the latchbolt on the doorknob was missing and the door could only be secured with the deadbolt. I bring this up because the balcony was shared with an adjoining room and was not completely private or secure. Restaurants: Overpriced for what you get, but convenient. Fitness Center: rather sad and dated. Environment needed a deep clean. Equipment needed a deep clean. Multiple items were nonfunctional, but only some were labeled (for how long? who knows). I tried an elliptical machine and could not get it to work. Closer inspection gave a clue as to what the issue may be: the connectors to the machine were "state-of-the-art" micro-USB and Apple Dock 30 pin connectors. This is perfect if you're looking to connect your iPhone 4S for some tunes while you work out. Overall, served its purpose--a place to sleep, but not really a pleasant place to spend a lot of time.

Nothing like the pictures! The customer service is not great, the entire hotel smells like weed (including our room). There were people arguing on the hall; we event got an umbrella thrown to our door. The room had mold. Terrible experience. And the breakfast was $15 per person + taxes!
