HIGHLAND PARK, IL: Where Ravine-Carved Beauty Meets North Shore Elegance

Nestled along the scenic shores of Lake Michigan, approximately 25 miles north of downtown Chicago, Highland Park stands as one of the most distinguished communities on Illinois's prestigious North Shore. Established in 1869 and incorporated as a city in 1919, this affluent suburb has cultivated a remarkable identity defined by its dramatic natural topography of deep ravines, towering bluffs, and ancient oak trees that have witnessed more than a century of refined development. The city's commitment to preserving its natural landscape while fostering cultural excellence has earned it recognition as a community where environmental stewardship and sophisticated urban planning coexist in remarkable harmony.

The cultural heartbeat of Highland Park resonates through Ravinia Festival, the nation's oldest outdoor music festival, which has welcomed legendary performers and classical orchestras since 1904, transforming summer evenings into cherished traditions for generations of families. The charming downtown district, with its tree-lined streets and distinctive architecture, offers an authentic small-town atmosphere enriched by boutique shops, acclaimed restaurants, and a thriving arts scene that reflects the community's deep appreciation for creativity and heritage. From the historic Rosewood Beach to the winding paths of its extensive park system, Highland Park embodies the enduring spirit of communities that honor their past while thoughtfully shaping their future, maintaining its position as a jewel of suburban refinement in the greater Chicagoland region.

Nice Refurbishment This hotel just went through a thorough renovation. It is extremely convenient to the North Suburbs and Chicago. The room was very clean and up to date. We had many choices for dining in the area. I will not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to my agency clients.

Lightscape Chicago The hotel was only a half mile from the Chicago Botanic Garden which is where we were going to Lightscape. It was the perfect location, hotel was very clean and Rebekah the General Manager could not have been more helpful. I had a ticket issue which she resolved for me and she made sure I got the best room rate possible. All with a great smile on her face. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great place close to Ravinia and Chicago Botanical Garden We were very impressed both times we stayed at this property over the last couple months. Even while they were under construction, the staff was very accommodating and helpful. On both occasions we were recognized as reward members and provided rooms that met our needs. We were especially appreciative that the rooms were renovated with updated amenities. We have found our go-to property whenever we are in the area for Ravinia or the Botanical Garden.

Typical Courtyard quality in a quiet setting Very consistent with all of the other Courtyards. Pleasant staff, clean facility and room and set back off the main street so nice and quiet. Very close to local restaurants, shopping and major roadways.
