San Diego, California: Historical Attractions and Electric Nightlife in Southern California

San Diego’s sunny, comfortably warm weather and 70 miles of coastline have long attracted vacationing out-of-towners, but the city’s inland scene is no slouch, either. The Gaslamp Quarter is arguably the trendiest listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The area forms both the historic center of town and a hub of San Diego nightlife, with nearly 100 Victorian-era buildings occupied by high-end boutiques, jewelers, and gourmet restaurants.

A stroll through iconic Balboa Park takes you past 17 separate museums, as well as the world-famous and much beloved San Diego Zoo. There’s also the vibrant Spanish Village Art Center, a living gallery where local artists produce pottery, handblown glass, and oil paintings for sale.

Farther north, in Old Town—site of the first European settlement in California—shops in Mission-style stucco buildings sell colorful wrestling masks, woven baskets, and maracas. Nearby stands the Whaley House Museum, dubbed one of the Most Terrifying Places in America by the Travel Channel. Ghosts of former residents are said to inhabit the rooms, which are filled with Victorian furniture, eerie dolls, and squeegees for ectoplasm cleanup.

great motel close to Seaworld Great location thats around many other motels and close to a shopping centre across the highway and Seaworld about 10 minutes by car. Staff very helpful and friendly. Comfortable room and beds. Great little cafe next door (Bunz). Plenty of parking, has an outdoor pool at the rear of the property

Someone needs to check for molds! My friend stayed here for the weekend and I decided to join for one night. He had his own room on the 3rd floor. When I got there we asked if we can can get a room close to his but they said they did not have anything available on the 3rd floor. I said no worries, I will take anything and they offered room 209! They said that is the ONLY room available. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The moment I walked in the smell of humid and musk was unbearable! After driving hours to get there I really did not have it in me to go argue with the front desk, I just left the door open for a while to see if that helps. They had put so much air freshener in the air that it mixed with the moisture that I could not breathe. These rooms need Air circulation not air freshener!!! I sat outside for a while, left the door open hoping it would help! Then I tried to take a nap before dinner and the noise from people outside in the balcony would not let me sleep... I went to take a shower and the faucet was not working. Took me 10 minutes to finally run the water.. it was either hot or cold... you touch the faucet and it would stop!!! I got out of shower and there water all over the floor in the So called kitchen area, from the fridge... I tried to dry it with a towel..and the room smelled musky all over again! I was planning to stay for couple nights but for almost $200 a night that I was spending on this hole, i got us a very nice Airbnb. I left at 7AM even though the check out was at 12 because I did not get a minute of sleep from the noise, the smell in the room.. Did not even want to complain to the front desk as they were amazingly careless as I checked in the day before, why would I argue... it already ruined my night and in the best case scenario they would apologize (highly doubt that but I am trying to be optimistic) PS. my friends room on the 3rd floor was much better! I am a fair person, let's just say the sheets and towel were clean but everything else was a disaster. This is why people try to get Airbnb and not deal with hotels anymore...you gotta know it takes a lot for us people to plan a small trip, do all these expense and then at end ... Left 7AM, sat in coffeeshop until 2PM until I checked in my airbnb.. I am paying $50 less and it already is so much better than that room! I hope the management read this, take action and do something. As I am not a vicious person, just trying to prevent his to happen to someone else.
