Kissimmee, Florida: Easy Access to World-Famous Theme Parks and Major Orlando Attractions

Located on the banks of Lake Tohopekaliga, Kissimmee sits about 22 miles from downtown Orlando and just 16 miles from the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks. The world’s most-visited entertainment resort spans roughly 30,000 acres, encompassing four theme parks, two water parks, five golf courses, and the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day at Magic Kingdom® Park by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. After that, ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. For dinner, head over to Epcot to sample cuisine from Morocco, Mexico, France, Italy, and several other countries. As one of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is home to other theme parks including Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando's vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as the CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which holds improv shows five nights a week.

good value for money We had emailed 3 weeks prior to our visit regarding a birthday, no response. Arrived and hotel and staff were lovely! rooms standard - just like a hotel room back in the uk really. Beds were amazing though - super comfy duck/down pillows & duvet. Rooms weren’t amazingly clean so we bought wipes with us and gave it a little dust down. Unfortunately no cleaning service any day - says cleaning times are until 4.30 but many still cleaning at 6pm. Food expensive - we paid $17 each for dry packed sandwiches from the Starbucks bar. Amazing pool! 10/10 location great - be sure to visit old town kissimmee and celebration as they’re super close. We used uber/lyft and pickup was at front door which was brilliant resort fee was $79 for 7 days for us, not bad.

Great base but needs some big improvements! We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the reception upon arrival was welcoming, and the location worked well as a base for getting around — convenient and central. However, several issues affected our overall comfort. The biggest concern was the room itself (4413), which had a constant dank, musty smell that never really went away. Housekeeping was inconsistent throughout our stay, and on one occasion, no one came to service the room. When we tried to call housekeeping twice from the room phone, both calls unexpectedly connected to 911 — a surprising and unsettling experience. In fact some days they only made the bed and emptied the bin and left cleaning the sink, toilet or shower/bath. I don’t believe they even hoovered the whole 10 days we were there as we left something on the floor and when we vacated the room it was still there. We even had to leave a note for the housekeeper to fill the shower gel up which was empty. Attention to detail is everything. The room also suffered from a significant lack of natural light due to a large tree directly outside the window, making it feel quite dark and closed in. We were told during booking that an upgrade to a pool room was possible, but despite repeated requests, it was never “available” even though the hotel did not appear to be at full capacity. The hotel appears to be dog friendly and whilst I have no issues with this it did mean that piles of dog poo were all around the reef building which is disgusting. Cannot comment on other facilities as we never used these though the grounds were well maintained Overall, while the hotel has potential and works well as a base, it’s in need of some attention and updates — particularly in the rooms and internal systems. A bit of investment and improved communication with guests could make a big difference.
