Be Aware!!! Be very aware!!! OK, Lets start with the positives. The Evening Meal at the Texas Saloon was great as was the service from Tammy at the Bar and at our Table. The newly remodelled reception area was nice and very modern and the staff member who check us out the following morning was nice and apologetic for the poor experience. Even the rooms, although a little dated compared to the new reception area, were clean. Now the truly frustrating and unacceptable aspect of our stay. Settle in folks! Firstly, the person checking us in was condescending and told my Wife that she had not completed her online check-in process correctly and that she had no second room details, even though we noticed she then reached for a preassigned card and room key with the additional room's guest name on the card already ???. in fact no real warm welcome from the start. The sad thing is my Wife who is a Travel Agent and books hundreds of hotel stays across the world might have thought she had a made a mistake except for the preassigned room keys for the room number that my wife had picked online. The staff member clearly did not like admitting their error. Secondly, the hotel's Texas Saloon restaurant is no longer associated with the hotel. You cannot charge to your room. If your are a Hilton Honors member with a food/room credit you cannot use the credit in the saloon. even though it is advertised on the hotel website as a benefit of their "on site" saloon. When we checked in at the Hotel we were not informed of this restriction. Bearing in mind that the main entrance to the restaurant is open double doors in the hotel's reception area, pretty much as you would expect from any other hotel with a restaurant "onsite". Also the was a big stand up sign in the open entrance inviting us in for a "all you can eat buffet breakfast". Of course not being advised about credit restrictions we opted for the $12.99 buffet only to find a truly lack lustre range of food choices, lack of bowls, cutlery, with slices of dry bread to big for the toaster (sideways and upright). Then there was the unexpected free entertainment at breakfast which consisted of several staff members playfully shouting and swearing at the top of their voices at each other, oblivious to the customers including children around them. We were then presented with the check with the room number section crossed out with the words "NO CHARGE TO ROOM" and when questioned the staff member pointed out that the hotel is always forgetting to tell customers that they are no longer associated with the hotel. The added insult is that in the rooms there is an A4 stapled printout menu of selected room service meal options from the restaurant. Therefore the overall consequence for the hotel, on this occasion, is not just a poor customer experience but also the fact that the hotel will not be getting any future bookings from my wife's customers traveling through the area based on her personal experience; its more than her job's worth. A lesson maybe for the hotel's next team training session.

Pick a different hotel Absolutely not up to Hilton standards. The lobby looks completely remodeled and very nice but they should have remodeled the rooms before the lobby. The ceiling in the bathroom was falling down and the bathroom door wouldn’t close. The door was an old wooden door that was either swollen from dampness or not aligned correctly. The entire room had a musty odor. The nightstand looked like it hadn’t been dusted in months. Also, there is a restaurant attached to the hotel which you can enter from the hotel lobby but you can’t use your food and beverage credit because “they aren’t part of the hotel “. It is the only food service at the hotel. There are many hotels in the area, so pick a different one. At least we didn’t have bedbugs like some others.

Not a great hotel experience at ALL‼️ August 1st through the 3rd, 2025 I along with my family and over 75 family members stayed at Doubletree by Hilton at 651 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, North Carolina, 27804. We were in town to attend our Family Reunion. Our stay wasn’t a pleasant one, sadly and most disappointingly because of the following: 1. We were suppose to have our meet and greet at the poolside. However, the pool wasn’t in working order and we were never informed. We found out via a review and when I contacted the hotel we weren’t met with professionalism or kindness by Ms. Evans, the supposedly, “event coordinator.” She was, in my opinion, quite unprofessional, argumentative, rude, curt and off putting. She suggested cancelling our rooms and remind you, this suggestion came while my family and I along with other family members, were in route to the hotel, traveling from many different parts of the U.S. After calling the general manager. We were allowed to host our meet and greet in a room at the establishment, free of charge, Thanks to the understanding general manager. But DEFINITELY, of no thanks to Miss Evans. It is my personal and professional opinion that she, as I informed corporate, is in need of professional development in dealing with paying guests, of what is suppose to be a highly reputable business. 2. This Hilton didn’t seem animal friendly, as they advertise. However, management called to inform us that if people complained about the dogs’ barking we would be subjected to additional fees. Would the same be said if a baby were to cry, while in their room? 3. The vending machines which were located in the lobby were broken and out of order, no late night snacks for us. 4. I was even locked out of my room because of a faulty latch. The safety latch, which is only suppose to work manually when someone is in the room, became engaged once I left the room. I guess it was the force of the door closing and by the latch being weakened it malfunctioned. A custodian had to use some of his tools to get me back into the room, now he was nice. While I have always patronized a Hilton, when traveling, this one in Rocky Mt, NC was the absolute worst! Perhaps, it probably wouldn’t have been as bad if we were met with some type of empathy OR compassion OR care, but unfortunately, we weren’t! This particular Hilton hotel was just not up to par, beginning with the event coordinator, who lacked professionalism. She, I thought was suppose to have our best interest at heart, yet that wasn’t evident. Mind you we, as a family, spent a great amount of money to stay at this establishment. Therefore, because of the aforementioned reasons, I reluctantly have to rate this particular Hilton a one star and it’s a one star because it’s the lowest rating available. If you are in the area and are a Hilton person, like I was, I would advise you to seek other hotels in that vicinity. Unfortunately and rather sad, I have to say, I will NEVER STAY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT, again!

BEDBUGS, BEDBUGS, BEDBUGS.. Over two weeks ago while staying at this location, I was assigned to a room with bedbugs. After contacting Hilton customer care. I was told to deal directly with the hotel manager, Ms. Benz to resolve my issues. I have called and left messages, sent several emails, asking the manager to speak directly to me. I provided documentation that was date and location stamped proving I was at the facility when I was bitten by bedbugs. I provided pictures of the bites on my shoulders and hands. I even provided a video which is date, location, and time stamped showing the bug scurrying from my body while I was laying in bed. The only response received from the manager was an email apologizing for my experience and a denial bedbugs were in the room. A refund was given for my stay. Since leaving the hotel, additional bugs have been seen in other pieces of my luggage. I am now faced with the task and expense of having to clean several suitcases of clothing. I also will have to discard my luggage as it is fabric. Interestingly enough, one of the hotels employees pulled me to the side when I was checking out and informed me that the hotel had a recent infestation, and she did not know why I was placed in that particular room as it had been treated for bed bugs several days before. The employee also indicated that roaches were also a problem at the hotel. I am posting this review because of the hotels lack of response to my issue. I also plan to reach out to the North Carolina health department.

Don't Book A Room Here This was quite possibly one of the most disgusting rooms I have stayed in. As a Diamond Member, I stay at Hilton everytime I travel. I have not had an issue at other Doubletree locations, in fact I stayed at another one during this trip and it was fine. The room smelled terrible, like it was drenched in some sort of air freshener. Once it wore off, the room just smelled dirty. There were rust stains on the floor lamp and tissue box. The carpet was sticky feeling. There was a blood stain on the comforter and the sheets smelled like smoke. There was thick dust and dirt around the edges of the room, especially near the bed. The shelving unit had wood chipping off, and there was thick dust and dirt near where the refrigerator is. One of the towels was stained. The hairdryer had a substance all over it that appeared to be urine stains. The tub also looked filthy. This is completely unacceptable. I expect more from the Hilton Brand. This was worse than a motel, and I felt disgusting sleeping here. I couldn't wait to leave.
