Hotel at a Glance: Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino

Some of Las Vegas' biggest attractions are right outside the door—the Fremont Street Experience is a block away—but guests at the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino have little reason to leave the premises. The hotel fills an entire city block, which leaves plenty of room for its 25,000-square-foot casino, multiple bars and restaurants, and a rooftop infinity pool. Back in the 1,124 guest rooms, visitors can kick back on a pillow-top bed and watch a movie on a flat-screen TV.

  • Share vacation photos with ease over the WiFi network.
  • 500: That's approximately how many slot machines you'll find in the casino.
  • Lounge on the roof beside the pool and have a drink at the Citrus Grand Pool Deck.
  • Notable accolade: TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice award.

Beyond the Las Vegas Strip: Old Vegas and Red Rock Canyon

It can feel like the entire city of Las Vegas revolves around the Strip if you never venture beyond that neon-lit corridor. But there’s plenty to see and do once you step off Las Vegas Boulevard. You can find a taste of Old Vegas on Fremont Street, where vintage signs and showgirls crowned with headdresses recall the days of Sinatra and Martin. Beginning at dusk, a canopy of more than 12 million LED lights erupts in a psychedelic light-and-music show every hour. For an aerial view, zoom down the center of Fremont Street on a zipline.

Nature puts on its own show at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, a landscape of fiery-red sandstone formations and limestone cliffs just 17 miles outside the city. Motor down the 13-mile scenic drive or ditch the car and strike out on any of more than 20 hiking trails that course through the region’s otherworldly topography.

Horrible experience!! For a 2 week work trip I stayed in this hotel, they have their room service (cleaning) policy that you have to call and request and I understand that. So for 5 consecutive days of calling and literally begging for my room to be clean, had to go down to the desk a few times and asked for it all I got from the management was lies and a horrible and arrogant attitude, definitely not what I deserve I don’t think. I followed their rules, but they can care less. After calling and arguing with Managers one of those nights at 11:30 PM they sent the only house keeper they have in this hotel as she mentioned.. ( I Don’t blame her, not her fault), who takes long work trips understand that all you want is get to your room and rest.. so a midnight cleaning service is ridiculous. I was extremely tired, disappointed and frustrated, I just couldn’t step out of the room for so long to be clean..they said again they do it first thing in the morning. Well, next day after a long day of work, got to My room and of course they didn’t clean it, so no towels, no supplies no nothing, once again call and they keep ignoring.. after a while waiting I went to the front desk, manager was very rude, arrogant and helpless, so I had to start a loud arguing in front of other customers. Nothing aggressive or anything in my side, but they call security on me!!! So finally on the 5th day at 10:30 they send someone to do the cleaning, and it was so insulting that they send a group of security guards to (protect ) OMG …the housekeeping person. I just think Is not acceptable that someone had to get this treatment when Is paying for a service. The whole situation was horrible, Probably my last time in this place. Definitely not recommended.

Fantastic Downtown Hotel Great hotel in Downtown Las Vegas. The Grand is located near all the Fremont street action, as well as in a walkable distance to Container Park and the Art District. Has a lovely outdoor oasis with ton's of lounge chairs, nice pool and a bar. It was actually a very nice place to hang out even when the pool was closed in January. The casino at the Grand is a manageable size , as it the hotel. Pro Tip: Room 1124 has an awesome view and is large. But it can be noisy from the street action. That didn't bother us at all. We will try to always get that room.
