Short, but Sweet! James and Layla saved my life when my original hotel booking fell through, and late at night I had no choice but to go from door to door looking for new accommodation. They were so kind, helpful and understanding and I am forever grateful. The hotel is definitely in the thick of things, which is great for soaking up the atmosphere both day or night, and all major attractions are a walk or short Uber trip away. If at any time it gets too loud or rowdy for your tastes, ask front desk to help out. Everyone's very ready to help make your stay the best. It was a short stay, but a good one.

This glam 4-star hotel one block from the beach features a rooftop pool and lounge, plus a restaurant from a celebrity chef and a spa

Miami’s South Beach: World-Famous Nightlife and Art-Deco Icons

Just east of downtown Miami, on the barrier island that forms Miami Beach, you’ll find one of the world’s nightlife capitals: South Beach. The clubs along Ocean Drive are legendary for their boisterous, all-night blowouts—and for good reason. With all the rum-soaked mojitos, colorful neon, and celebrity sightings, it can feel like an endless party. Perhaps that’s why the area pops up so often in film and TV shows, including Burn Notice and The Birdcage.

The coast of South Beach is known as Lummus Park, which Frommer’s calls Miami’s “best beach for people-watching.” While the bleached sand and curving palms are gorgeous, they’re almost overshadowed by the chiseled beach-goers dotting the sand. From here, a wood-slat boardwalk runs all the way up to North Beach, attracting joggers and roller bladers. Head across the bay, to South Pointe Park or Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, for quieter, more secluded shores.

It’s easy enough to spend the entirety of a trip to South Beach face-down on a beach towel, but that would mean missing out on the city’s other offerings. The famous art-deco district, with its iconic, streamlined hotels in pastel shades, was the first 20th-century neighborhood to be recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. Every morning at 10:30, local experts from the Miami Design Preservation League lead a 90-minute walking tour that highlights the neighborhood’s signature architecture.

PERFECTLY LOCATED ART DECO GEM Ok! So… We picked this 1937 hotel because of the reviews and the absolutely PERFECT location to, well, EVERYTHING we wanted to see and do in SOBE. The staff is on top of their hospitality from start to finish and the overall experience with Dream South Beach was good enough for us to plan to rebook for our winter vacation in January of 2022! Yes, the rooms are on the small side but one must remember this is a conjoined 80 year old pair of hotels and very few hotel rooms from that era were much bigger at that time unless you had a larger property at more expensive rate. The building on the left may have louder music from the fun Tiki bar next door so if you aren’t wanting a lot of noise, ask for a room on the Tudor side on 11th street. The Versace Mansion is directly behind this hotel too as is Ocean Drive which you absolutely must see and enjoy the buildings bars and restaurants and the epic people watching is very entertaining indeed! Thanks to the attentive staff at Dream SOBE for a truly enjoyable quick escape from home and working! We will be staying w you again in January when its cold and rainy here in Memphis!! ROQ&DAVIS

Great visit We stayed for two nights in a Sun Suite King. Everything was very nice. The only downside is the lighting in the room is very dim - hard to put make-up on or shave. Loved the roof top area - great for hanging out. The staff at the front desk and Kelly at the pool bar were friendly, pleasant and welcoming! The pool was a great place to hang out and the drink specials were well worth it. I would definitely stay here again. Yes, it did show some signs of wear and tear in the public areas, but I did not notice it is the room. And the bed was very, very comfortable. Noise was not too bad from outside. I mean, it is a city, so you will hear noise, but it did not really disturb my sleep. This was a great location too.

Disappointed Picked this hotel based on the good reviews and we were shocked. I understand things have changed since COVID so I tried not to be critical of the dingy appearance of the lobby but it was a different situation when we got to our room. The room had a smell to it and we found mold in the bathroom. The ceiling in the bathroom was visibly destroyed from moisture and there was wallpaper peeling from the walls in the bedroom. There was some type of cabinet that looked like it had the door replaced with plywood and then painted white to make it match. The floor was dusty and the rug was worn and stained, not something I would want to put my bare feet on! We are not picky by any means but this room was dirty and worn down in so many different ways. Maybe other reviewers were given great rooms but we definitely were not. We stayed long enough to charge our phones in order to book another hotel in the area.
