They housed us in the oldest part of the hotel. It was bad enough that we left a day early. They gave no recommendations for a change or an upgrade

Great location and prime rib special The restaurant prime rib special was delicious. There was no wait and the staff was attentive The casino is small and not crowded. I was playing black jack and they had $15 minimum tables. I won and I was happy. It is on Fremont streets block away from the band stages. I will go back again

Family owned casino who take care of their guests! El Cortez is a family operated casino/hotel and is east of Fremont street. A lot of history with this casino and many pics from the past are portrayed in the halls. Management and staff are the best. I'll be visiting this place again. If you want a quieter place to stay and play, check this out!

Noisy at night. I really enjoy this casino. It has the old fashioned vibes that I grew up with as a young gambler. The renovations in the casino are great, although the $15 dollar minimums at the crap table tends to restrict participation., with lots of idle dealers during the off hours. My wife and I checked in on Sunday Feb 16, for two days. However, the noise from the street at night kept her up nearly the whole night, and she was quite upset. So we checked out the next morning and booked a Strip hotel. If the wife ain't happy... I think it would be advisable to ask the staff for the quieter side of the building if you're going to stay there. It's too bad because I love the Downtown scene.
