Hotel at a Glance: Excalibur Hotel & Casino

It may look like a castle, but Excalibur Hotel & Casino isn't quite a step back in medieval times—it's got a sprawling casino flickering with countless slot machines and table games. Numerous entertainment venues host a variety of shows, games, and music for all ages. Get down to the disco-fevered Australian Bee Gees, cheer on a medieval Tournament of Kings (may be temporarily unavailable), or watch the men of Thunder From Down Under shake it. The hotel's eclectic dining options include Dick’s Last Resort, Buca di Beppo, and TAP Sports Bar at Excalibur, as well as a food court.

  • See jousting matches and dancing maidens at Tournament of Kings, a three-course dinner show (may be temporarily unavailable).
  • Dining options: There are numerous onsite restaurants and a massive food court.
  • Hearty eats can be found at Dick's Last Resort, such as ribs and wings and burgers. They're all served up by friendly, wisecracking wait staff.
  • Fun for the whole family: Little ones can play arcade games while savoring Dairy Queen Blizzards.

The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

MGM Excalibur is a rip off Our stay at the Excalibur was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve ever had in Las Vegas. We paid extra for a newly renovated room with a strip view and received neither. The room was outdated, worn, and absolutely not what was advertised. The heater and AC unit was old, loud, and dirty. We had to request a new air filter just to breathe comfortably. The TVs might as well have been from the 1990s. None of the channels worked because everything was white noise from an antenna. You cannot access Netflix or any entertainment apps. We could not even rely on our own devices because the WiFi was so limited and slow that streaming was impossible. The room had an ironing board but no iron, and the photos online are misleading. They show a large curtain that suggests a large window, but the window is tiny and the curtains simply cover the walls to make it appear bigger. The bathroom door did not lock and was clearly old, not renovated as advertised. Front desk staff did not explain anything about food credits at check in. We spent over a thousand dollars in the casino and were never served a single drink. Servers approached us, took our order, and then disappeared each time. It felt careless and unorganized. The pricing inside the hotel feels predatory. The shows were good but the added fees and taxes make the tickets extremely expensive. They also prevent guests from taking their own photos and instead push you to buy a cheesy picture from an outside photographer for one hundred fifty dollars. The food court pizzeria charges fifty nine dollars for three slices of pizza and three fountain drinks. To make matters worse, I accidentally left my cane at the front desk before checkout. I returned five minutes later and suddenly no one had seen it. No explanation and no effort to locate it. Accessibility is another serious issue. The facilities are not friendly for people with disabilities. There are steep hills inside the casino and no assistance or consideration for guests who need mobility support. At checkout we reported everything. The agent noted the issues and offered a small discount to cover some taxes but said we had to contact Expedia for a refund of the extra amount we paid for the upgraded room we never received. Nothing matched the website’s descriptions or what we paid for. The hotel is outdated, misleading in how it advertises itself, overpriced, and lacking in customer service and accessibility. We enjoyed the Vegas shows but none of that came from the Excalibur. We will not return and we do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially travelers with disabilities or anyone expecting to receive the room and services they paid for

Excalibur Casino Sucks Very long and confusing walk from lousy parking to the hotel elevators. Lousy room with water leak on the the TV stand from recent rain. Outdated room with dirty looking carpet not cleaned other than vacuumed. Slots are a rip.off. Took 2,000.00 of My hard earned money with no pay on each spin and bonus teasers that never happened. Truly tight controlled slots. You will loose I guarantee it. Casino sucks with signs that are confusing.
