Bravo, Fairmont Mayakoba & Alfonso! My family & I just returned from a 4-night stay at the Fairmont Mayakoba. We were familiar with the property as we'd stayed there a decade ago. However, Fairmont has done some substantial renovations. We stayed in a complex near the beach (800 series) and the accommodations are terrific. The staff was also wonderful, embodied by Alfonso, a porter who could not have been kinder or more helpful. Definitely won't wait a decade to return!
