Great Family Trip! We had a wonderful trip! Service from all the staff was outstanding especially Fernanda Salgado and Javier Alarcon, our room butlers. Daniel, who took us snorkeling was also great! Highly recommend Fairmont Mayakoba!

The best service in Yucatán at Fairmont Mayakoba Absolutely breathtaking! __ My stay at Fairmont Mayakoba was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff made me feel fantastic. _ The property is stunning, with beautifully manicured gardens, wonderful pools, amazing gym and spa and luxurious villas that exceeded my expectations. __ But what really made my stay special was the exceptional service. Everybody is so kind. From the team at the restaurants, like in the beach club key Bar where Jorge Ocaña helped us with the best ceviche and drinks to enjoy the sunsets. Special thanks to my personal butler Jhovany Vazquez who was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure my every need was met. _ we will miss you! And the food! Oh my goodness, the food! __ Each meal was a culinary masterpiece, with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and impeccable presentation. __ I would return to Mayakoba again and again without hesitation. It's a true paradise on earth, and I feel so grateful to have experienced it. _❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #Mayakoba #LuxuryResort #ParadiseFound #ButlerService #DeliciousFood #UnforgettableStay"

Fairmont Mayakoba. A Mixed Bag. This is a sprawling 5 star resort 30 minutes south of the Cancun airport. It is built in a jungle which gives it a unique feel with plants and animals everywhere (we even saw an Anteater one night). The service is excellent as is the food and drink. The rooms are well appointed and of good size. The Cielo is a must visit for drinks and the breakfast buffet is incredible. One downside is that the property is enormous. You can't realistically walk in the heat from the lobby to your room or the pools or beach. There are bikes that you can use and there is a frequent shuttle service that seems to run constantly. When you do walk, you are in a constant state of confusion as there are very little signage telling you where you are and how to get to various locations. Where there are signs they are mostly lawyer written signs warning you about no diving, wild animals, etc. The few signs that could be helpful usually are aligned with arrows that are pointing into a deadend or behind you. The size of the property is what it is but management should completely overhaul their signage so that guests aren't meandering around lost for days on end (you never get used to it). The other downside is huge and unfortunate. This time of year the beach is completely overtaken by seaweed. Like as in unswimable and the beach unwalkable as there are mounds and mounds of seaweed. The hotel has a netting system and have constant tractors picking it up but the weeds just overtake it. My understanding is that in the winter the weeds are gone but in early June, the beach was simply unusable and we stayed in their pools, which are incredible. We ended up extending our stay north of Cancun in Costa Mujeres where the weeds were barely noticable. You can't fight Mother Nature but you can choose where and when you spend your hard earned money and time. If the beach is important to you, come during the winter or head north. If it isn't, this is a fine choice.
