Superb resort with world class Butlers Our stay at the Fairmont Mayakoba was absolutely wonderful — a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and family fun. The resort itself is stunning, surrounded by lush nature and crystal-clear waterways, and every part of our stay felt thoughtfully cared for. A very special thank you to our incredible butlers, Edgar Benavides and Ali Bolaños, whose service was truly exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure our family was looked after in every way. From thoughtful touches throughout our stay to making sure our daughters (ages 6 and 3) had the best time ever, they made our vacation unforgettable. We left feeling completely relaxed and full of happy memories. The Fairmont Mayakoba is a beautiful resort, but it’s the people—like Edgar and Ali—who make it truly special. We can’t wait to come back! The Beaumont family :)

Why Fairmont Mayakoba Is My Sanctuary, Time and Again I’ve just returned from another unforgettable stay at Fairmont Mayakoba and once again, it exceeded every expectation. This resort remains, without question, my favorite resort in the world. With each visit, my appreciation deepens for its flawless blend of luxury, natural beauty, and hospitality that truly nourishes the soul. The setting is serene, the accommodations exquisite, and the dining consistently world-class. But what sets Mayakoba apart is its people as they are the heart and soul of the resort. They don’t just offer exceptional service; they create a feeling of belonging that keeps guests like me coming back, time and again. I want to recognize the individuals who made our ninth visit so memorable. Their dedication and warmth are the reason this place feels like home: Luis, whose joyful energy made every golf cart ride feel like a celebration Iker, the lagoon boat captain who brought depth and delight to our exploration Arnaldo at Cielo, whose gracious service made each cocktail feel like an occasion Rodrigo, our intuitive butler and concierge, always a step ahead Fernanda Salgado, whose vibrant presence and professionalism elevated our entire stay—she is a standout in every way Irving, a bellman with the heart of a five-star concierge Daniela at La Laguna, who greeted us each evening with grace and warmth Alfonso, the masterful bartender at Tauro—don’t miss his espresso martinis Oscar at Hix, whose friendly, attentive service set the tone each day After nine visits, I can say without hesitation that this is more than a resort. It’s a place of restoration, joy, and sincere connection. My home away from home. I’m already counting the days until visit number ten.

Not Sure is they should get a 3 o 4 star review The property is absolutely gorgeous. Everything looked very well kept up: restaurants, lobby, pool, etc.. The beach was free of sargassum seaweed. We stayed at an ocean front villa which was outstandingly decorated, it came with butler service. We also opted for the all-inclusive option. The food options were mostly really good, with Fuego Restaurant (located on the beach) being our favorite. I did, however, expect better wines as part of the all-inclusive package. I should note that the hotel had 10% occupancy rate, which meant that some restaurants were not open, and one would think that the level of service would be very high since there aren’t as many guests to attend to. This review would have gone much better if it hadn’t been for the inconsistent service we encountered. You either get very, very below average service or very, very excellent service. The butler service was very inconsistent and always took a long time to respond. One day we asked for ice more than once, and we never got a response back after several hours. No big deal, we went to get ice!! But I cannot understand the delayed response on everything, if there are very little % of rooms occupied, and even smaller % for butler service. The same goes for barmen and attending staff. You either got very attentive service, or complete neglect. Over our 3 days stay, we spent all our time on the beach during which not a single staff member passed by to ask if we needed anything to drink until the very end. Again, no big deal, we went and got drinks from the bar. At some point it irked me, and I made the comment and then they started checking in on us at the very end our stay. Again, how can you have such a low service level with 10% occupancy. Another issue that I had was the informalities of some of the staff. You stay at a luxury hotel, and you expect some level of decorum from the interactions. Again, you get staff that are exceptionally polite, and others that call you “chicos”, which translates to kids/young people. We are not exactly 30 years old, or 40 for that matter, so you do not address people of our age in that matter. It is not a cultural thing; it is a manners thing!! One last thing, the all-inclusive package was OK ($270+ per day. Not great value for our consumption habits) but you still must sign off on everything you order, which defeats the purpose of why I added the option to my reservation to begin with. We are neither big eaters, nor heavy drinkers, the whole point was not asking and waiting for a bill. We had little time, and we wanted to enjoy the beach. Very inconsistent, which is a shame. The hotel deserves 3 stars, but because of some very wonderful staff members I gave 4 stars. Odds are we will go somewhere else next time. Not the level of service you expect from a Fairmont.
