The hotel was great all around, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food at all the restaurants was surprisingly good. La Fuente, the buffet restaurant, had something different every day, and all of it was very good. The best-kept secret was that you could buy a bottle of wine for as little as $16 USD and have dinner in a palapa on the beach at Albatros, but remember to factor in a tip as well. The menu there is a little less inspired (although still very good), but the palapa made up for the menu! I would absolutely stay here again.

Cancún: Cool White Sands and Mayan Relics

Located on a barrier island shaped like the number seven, Cancún’s Hotel Zone juts into the Caribbean Sea at the northeast tip of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. With the sea on one side and freshwater lagoons on the other, it’s a popular spot for sailing and snorkeling. Although the beaches and barrier reefs are a major draw, the geography is equally enticing further inland, where you can dive into an underground river or take a speedboat through a mangrove jungle.

The stone columns of El Rey Ruins, an ancient Mayan site dating back to the second and third centuries BCE, lie within the city’s Hotel Zone. Believed to be a royal burial ground, the archaeological site is also home to wild iguanas that lounge in the sun.

For your information So I loved this place Had stayed here in Feb. 2024 and came back Oct. 30 2924 for 8 nights. We come here for dental work at CDS amazing place with top quality work 1/5th tge price of the U.S. So the good .. The beach is beautiful and a blue flag rating. Wait staff and beach staff top notch. Beautiful views from the ocean view rooms which are really ocean front. Small resort and I love that . All tge staff is great! The bad.. we came back from a day at the beach jumping waves, wet, sandy and sunburnt too No water This was at 4 pm. Was told they were fixing the issue, ok I get it Cleaned up as well as possible . As said it’s Mexico no hurry no worry Note while jumping waves I was taken out by a wave and smashed my left foot into the sand and sm breaking 2 of my toes. We had our last night dinner reservations at the beach front restaurant I wore a beautiful dress but had to wear wedged sparkly fiilpfoops as I could not get left foot into my dressy sandals without crying. And could not walk in them Got to the restaurant, as we were seated Sone lady , tourist looks at my feet and screams out loud she’s wearing flip flops. They were not beach flip flops but sparkly heeled flip flops and only because I had broken two toes. Needless to say we had to leave and I was asked to change my shoes Which I had but could not get my left foot into. I was not being disrespectful and was dressed top notch . Even though I couldn’t shower due to no water. Could by flush a toilet, shower or wash hands for 3 hours The resorts toilets which I tried to use had fecal matter n them and smelled . I get it you have to go you have to g Hubby and I theyn went to the Lobby bar. I was really disappointed and a little upset Bar staff was using a little container of water , too be, quart size to wash and rinse the plastic glasses at least 40 while I watched. Before he got a 5 gal jugof water and changedtge little bowl outi I didn’t bitch . Stuff happens and it’s Mexico right So if you have a disability or injure a foot and can’t wear real shoes You will be eatting at a subpar Buffett which is under model Room notes Beautiful view from ocean view Negitive notes Slider was very difficult to open like I had to have my hubby open it and it was hard for him am he’s strong Had to go find towels and floor towels 5 out of 8 days Beach towels are normally out so you can’t replace and ended up with your wet sandy towels Your Or no towels and they don’t open until after we are at beach. Our room on was 6th floor was always sandy and gritty. I can deal with sand not being able to open slider door and no waterbut to be turned away due to my ability to wear the proper shoe because I had broken 2 toes is unexpectable. Very happy to be flying home tomorrow In my fancy flip flops in first clasd FYI I’m a permenant Mexican resident Hold a Mexican drivers license, bank account ant a casa in southern Mexico so m very aware of difficulties and have never written a negitive review until know!

HAD TO SPEAK TO MANAGER!! I HAD TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER!! We have been to this resort 4 times now in the last year! Every time we felt like it was too good to be true. Our boys absolutely love Estefania (the baby-sitter). She's gentle, creative, and engaging. She's always catering to their individual interests and we have to drag our boys out of there every day! Jairo at Albatros goes above and beyond every single meal, but this time was tear-jerkingly good (wifey cried). He overheard us talking to our son about his birthday being the next day and before leaving he asked us to come see him for breakfast the next day. He prepared a party for my son and bought him a couple of presents with his own money! we were floored! We seriously feel like we are with extended family when we stay here! As for the food, it's authentic Mexican home cooking most nights. We're from Dallas Tx and so we know a bit about good tacos. Let me just say these tacos are BOMB and it's taco night every night for about an hour. Orlando's drinks at Albatross are also some of the best I've had. The Manager Felix Reyes was very happy to hear my opinion in person and encouraged me to post this because many people have similar experiences but never post a review. We'll definitely be back very soon. If you want to see some of our experience check it out @learnlivelovejourney on insta! Hope to see you there!

Hotel Flamingo in Cancun, GREAT staff but hotel needs updating. Despite some mix up with terminology of “bedrooms” we had a pleasant experience. This was due to highly attentive CONCIERGES, OMAR and SHAMIR!. They worked so diligently to make sure we had everything we asked for, helped us resolve the room issue, and provided courteous daily communication. Without OMAR and SHAMIR, our trip would have been a disaster!!!! The Hotel is in need of repairs, rooms need upgraded paint, faucets, adjustable AC. Main restaurant was very warm but had some excellent food, especially the chicken. Renting cabanas by the beach was a nice experience with excellent service. A negative would be there’s not enough places to eat outside and are usually occupied all day. Can only eat in certain areas. there isn’t a shop within the Hotel to purchase anything. No adult only pool, no area to accommodate card games inside. Beautiful beach, lots of lounge chairs, two nice smaller pools, which the families used. The beach is not cleaned in front of the hotel. It is definitely a small, THREE STAR resort of sorts, but has very pleasant and courteous staff who try very hard to please you.
