The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Head to LINQ Promenade for a shopping and dining experience, then ride atop the High Roller observation wheel. Thanks to the strip’s re-creation of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas and the Roman Empire at Caesars Palace, you can virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

Honestly, it's one of the cleanest hotels i have stayed in! Skip the kiosks, though & go straight to the counter to check in. The kiosk told me my room wasn't ready, but 45 min (& no email) later, we went to the counter & our room was ready.

Horrible check in This hotel has a very inefficient check in process. They have a bunch of kiosks where it says you can check in and get keys, but even after we had checked in it said to see the lobby ambassador. This meant waiting in line for 40 minutes to check in again. It was prime check in time at 5 p.m. and the hotel only had 2 people working the check in desk. How does that make any sense? We asked to talk to the manager, who stated you have to wait in line everywhere and they only gave her 2 employees to work the desk. She didn't care that every guest standing in line was mad as they started their vacation. A simple solution would be ro have a separate pick up desk for people who had checked in at the kiosks. It is like this every time we have stayed. Horrible staff and service at the check in counter. Whoever runs the bell desk should be running the lobby check in. We dropped our bags off earlier in the day with Brian. He is always so friendly and helpful, not to mention efficient. After we got our keys we headed to our room and called the bell desk to bring our bags. Within a few minutes they were at our door. Friendly staff brought them up. Management should give everyone in the luggage area a raise and get rid of the lobby manager.

Yes, it really is as bad as the reviews make it sound I had low expectations given prior stays and the cheap rate, but even those were not met. Checked in online and paid to upgrade to a room one category higher. Room key pick up was annoying since only 3 of the kiosks were in operation, but at least faster than the comically long front desk line. Despite being in a non-smoking room, it smelled like someone was hiding in the closet actively chainsmoking for our entire stay. We tried to go to the front desk several times to request a room switch, but the line was always snaked out into the casino. My partner had to replace a CPAP mask because no amount of soap and vinegar could get the smell out. The mold in the bathroom and stained carpet were icing on the cake. There aren't many other low-cost options on the strip, but no longer worth saving a few bucks to be at the Flamingo.

Disappointing Let me say the location on the strip and the hotel facilities/customer service were great. However, pay attention to the type of room you’re reserving. We stayed at The Flamingo last year and enjoyed it. This year, apparently I did not book the same type of room. This room was a disappointment to say the least. It was a motel standard room to say the least. Dingy and dirty. There was no carpet, the tv and little dresser it was on had a white splatter on it, the old little mini fridge sat on the floor, and the bathroom was the smallest/outdated I have ever seen. I will say the air worked well and the bed was comfy but the hotel lost satellite signal Friday and when we checked out Saturday at 11:00, it was still not working. Having no tv to watch while trying to relax in the room was frustrating. I’d hesitate to stay here in the future.
