The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Head to LINQ Promenade for a shopping and dining experience, then ride atop the High Roller observation wheel. Thanks to the strip’s re-creation of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas and the Roman Empire at Caesars Palace, you can virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks. Honestly, it's one of the cleanest hotels i have stayed in! Skip the kiosks, though & go straight to the counter to check in. The kiosk told me my room wasn't ready, but 45 min (& no email) later, we went to the counter & our room was ready.

The Flamingo is a SCAM — Worst Hotel Experience Ever! Where do I even begin? From the moment we arrived, the staff was rude and completely unhelpful. The first room we were given was absolutely disgusting — wallpaper was peeling off the walls, everything was dusty, and it felt like the room hadn’t been properly cleaned in weeks. When we requested assistance with our luggage, it took over an hour just to have it delivered to the first room. Upon checkout, it took another 40 minutes for someone to arrive and pick it up — and they did so with a terrible attitude. Things only got worse with our second room. The bellhop said he would beat us to the room with our luggage… but we waited over 2 hours before calling to check in. The operator at the bell desk acted annoyed that we were even calling and gave us an ETA of 25 minutes. When we called again, another operator falsely claimed they had tried delivering but we weren’t in the room — which was completely untrue. We had gone straight there after speaking with the bellhop. Eventually, someone arrived — finally — and the bellhop was incredibly rude, telling my husband, “I don’t know what to tell you,” like he couldn’t care less that they were hours late with our belongings. The morning of checkout, the bellhop rushed us out. To top it all off, the next day, a maintenance worker showed up unexpectedly to fix a sink — saying he had an “old ticket.” Thankfully someone was in the room, otherwise who knows what would have happened. We had also booked a cabana thinking it would be a fun experience, but upon arrival were told there was a $200 minimum food and beverage charge — something that was not disclosed in the terms when we booked. This was incredibly misleading. While trying to make the most of it, we encountered rude cleaning attendants on the casino floor arguing with guests. I simply asked one where the nearest ATM was so I could break a $100 bill — and was told rudely that they didn’t know, then the employee just walked away. So unprofessional. Then this morning, a maid knocked once and barged into our room five seconds later — at 9 AM — even though our checkout wasn’t until noon. My godchild was partially undressed, getting ready for the day, and was scared and shaken by this total invasion of privacy. At the end of the day, my stay at the Flamingo was an absolute disaster. Poor service, rude staff, dirty rooms, and zero professionalism. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

$500 room should come with sheets I always liked the idea of the Flamingo being one of the remaining original hotels on the strip, thought the history was charming. I thought the signs and lights were so classic and the pool sounded tropical. I come to Vegas once every few years and was only staying a single night, meeting a friend for a concert. I’m from Alaska and can deal with all manner of accommodations. I frequently spend weekends in single room cabins that only have outhouses so I’m not unaccustomed to varied levels of comfort. I showed up and payed the $68 early check in fee because I flew overnight as many Alaska flights are. I planned to nap and then go meet up with my friend. I pulled back the bedding and there was no sheet. I thought I was confused. Just the comforter that they don’t swap out between guests. I figured it was just a screw up so called guest services and they said they would send someone up. Hotels often wrap that comforter in two flat sheets, one on top and one on bottom and then a fitted sheet on the mattress. No one ever showed up so I figured it would be a while and went to get food and check out the pool. The pool would be an entirely separate review…. Anyway, by the time I got back to the room I was in a hurry to get showered, changed and out for a dinner reservation before the concert. I checked with a cleaner in the hall to see if I could just have a spare sheet and she told me she was doing all of the rooms like that because they didn’t have enough sheets. It’s not a huge deal, just seemed kind of unsanitary. That definitely doesn’t meet basic standards for swapping bedding between guests. This was a basic room on busy, Backstreet Boys, Beyoncé Friday night. I booked pretty last minute and paid $553 all in for the room. When I got home I called and they offered me $25. So that’s like what I could buy a sheet for so I guess that’s fair LOL The other muuuuuch nicer hotels were not that much more expensive so I guess I won’t be making the Flamingo mistake again.

Mostly good Issues with the parking garage not resting room keys, & they had to reimburse us for all the charges. No towels in room. Ceilings light covers in bathroom hanging, and one fell off and shattered. They were fast and wonderful cleaning up the glass. Needs painting in rooms over rust and stains. Other than that, great stay. Beautiful Flamingo/ bird habitat. Loved Bugsy the rehab Pelican. Great restaurants, Pools, games. Live the openness and brightness.
