Midtown Manhattan: Iconic Sights, Fifth Avenue Shops, and Penn Station Transportation

Midtown Manhattan is known for some of New York’s most famous landmarks, including Rockefeller Center—home to the Today show and Saturday Night Live—and Madison Square Garden, where the New York Knicks and Rangers play. A stroll down Fifth Avenue is a world-renowned shopping experience: the street is filled with luxury boutiques and flagship department stores, including the original Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman.

With its proximity to Penn Station and the Port Authority bus terminal, Midtown makes transportation a breeze. Trains leaving Penn Station travel all across the city, and Grand Central Terminal, one of the world’s most-visited tourist attractions, is nearby. Though in recent years Grand Central has filled with upscale restaurants and shops, it still serves as a major transportation hub with subway lines and Metro trains heading all over the city.

Not Worth The Money Hotel is clean and new but not worth the price of $250 that I prepaid. Upon checking in at the property, front desk staff asked us to pay $50 deposit of which $34 will not be returned as it is paid for amenities. It is not a resort or anything. They just gave bottled water that is refillable with tap. Room is so small. There’s a hidden charge i would say. With a total fee of close to $300, I would have checked in at Park Lane which is way way way better, top notch hotel. Stay away from this Pineapple Hotel.

Best spot to explore NYC Very friendly staff, no breakfast but clean rooms and great amenities, like yummy cookies in the afternoon and free tea, coffee, hot & cold water 24h. Perfect for exploring NYC! Almost all destinies no longer than 30 min by public transportation and/ or walking, whether it is Brooklyn, Upper Eastside or SoHo. Next time we stay in the States we will certainly look for a Staypineapple Hotel again. We were worried because of the area close to Penn Station. But if you keep your eyes open and don't travel alone, this felt safer than the area around Times Square.

Very cute and comfortable! Absolutely the best hotel and hospitality I’ve ever experienced and I stayed just for one night! I will say that upon entering the room I noticed that I didn’t have a coffee maker (the old ones were getting replaced with new Keurig) so I called front desk. The Head Pineapple named Andrew was so kind and professional to request one swiftly! The bed was super comfortable! I don’t know if I was super tired or the bed was just TOO good because my room was facing 36th street NY and I didn’t hear any of the chaos below! I’m definitely coming back and will book again and again!

Surprisingly wonderful I had to quickly book a hotel when my flight was cancelled, and found this place randomly. I was just expecting a normal hotel, but this place was so much better! I found all their little touches so cute and fun, to the point where I sent pictures to my family to show them all the fun details. It was such a quick stay, I barely used many of the amenities but will definitely look to stay at another staypineapple again. The staff was kind and helpful, everything was clean, the bed was super comfy, the bubbly water was delicious, everything was excellent.

Beware, you might have to pay for an additional room The hotel is cute. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are small, but well appointed however, we had a major challenge checking in. We had booked a two twin bedroom, and when we got there, all they had was a king size bed.! Even though the website shows the twin bedrooms first, there is only one twin bedroom in the entire hotel in New York City! And their website allows you to book it… But when you get there, you get a room with a king bed that cannot be separated into two twins. Beware they do not have blowup mattresses for rollaway beds to solve the problem so if you need two twin beds, this is not the hotel for you. I will say the staff was exceptionally stressed by trying to solve this for us, and they couldn’t so as a result? We had to purchase another entire hotel room. Again, this is a corporate problem not a Scott problem. The staff themselves were exceptional, but their hands were tied, and I really resented having to purchase another room after being allowed to book and fully pre-pay for a room that does not exist when you arrive at the hotel.
