Hotel at a Glance: FUSION Resort

Nestled in the picturesque setting of Treasure Island, FUSION Resort is a refined and modern hotel that caters to travelers seeking a tranquil escape. Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, the resort boasts a scenic location that offers direct access to the pristine white-sand beach. The guest rooms and suites are elegantly designed to provide a haven of comfort, and the property offers amenities suitable for both leisure and business travelers, including a fitness center and meeting facilities. It is an ideal choice for those seeking a tranquil and restful stay by the Gulf waters.

Treasure Island, Florida: Three Miles of White-Sand Beachfront

Treasure Island got its name after a group of enterprising hotel owners buried—and later “discovered”—a couple of fake treasure chests along the beach. In spite of their farce, the name stuck. So all right, you won’t find any buried treasure here, but surely you can console yourself with 3 miles of white sand along the Gulf of Mexico. Head to the middle of the island for extra-wide beaches lined with shops, restaurants, and bars. There’s also a walking pier that runs parallel to the shoreline between 104th and 119th Avenues.

A great way to explore Treasure Island and nearby beach communities is by taking the Suncoast Beach Trolley. It runs along the Gulf coast from St. Pete Beach to Clearwater, stopping at many popular beaches along the way. Just across the bridge, St. Petersburg’s charming waterfront downtown is also worth a visit. You’ll find art-deco buildings, broad streets lined with palm trees, and the Dali Museum, which displays many of the paintings, sculptures, and melted timepieces of surrealist master Salvador Dalí.

Nightmare Stay at Fusion Resort Treasure Island - Avoid at All Costs! Nightmare Stay at Fusion Resort Treasure Island - Avoid at All Costs! My recent stay at the Fusion Resort in Treasure Island was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Despite the high price tag, the room was disgusting. The pervasive smell of mildew was nauseating, and the ripped couch was just the beginning of the decay. We will be attaching photos to this review to provide visual evidence of the unacceptable conditions. To add insult to injury after we complained about the ripped furniture, their brilliant solution was to have housekeeping simply flip the seat cushion over! To add further insult to injury, after paying a premium for this supposed resort, they refused to let me park my truck and jet ski in their lot! I was forced to leave my valuable belongings in an unsafe, abandoned parking lot, constantly worrying about theft. Their claim of a "full bar" was a blatant lie – it was closed down with no prior notification. This false advertisement was just one of many disappointments. Even the basic service was a joke. Housekeeping inexplicably only cleaned one of the beds, leaving the other untouched. And don't even think about relaxing in the "hot tub" – it was barely lukewarm. The pool wasn't any better, with disgusting wads of gum stuck to the bottom. The filth didn't stop there. On one occasion, we encountered a bloody napkin in the elevator – a truly disturbing sight. When we tried to address these serious issues, the GENERAL MANGER ABEL had the audacity to laugh at our concerns over the phone! The desk staff were equally unhelpful and dismissive. Especially Steve. Giving us a problem at 4:00 in the morning when arriving on the first day. Giving a $25 dollar ticket to a truck that was already payed for. The state of the room itself was appalling. Peeling paint hung from the master bedroom shower ceiling, and the toilet was disgustingly stained. To top it all off, the walls were haphazardly patched with mismatched paint, making the entire room feel cheap and neglected. To further highlight the chaos, we even returned to the resort at 11 PM to find police on the premises dealing with a dispute, and we weren't the only ones suffering – multiple other residents had a litany of complaints about this dreadful place. This was not a relaxing getaway; it was a stressful, disgusting, and frankly, alarming experience. The Fusion Resort Treasure Island is a prime example of false advertising, terrible service, utterly unacceptable conditions, and a complete disregard for guest comfort and safety. Do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! You'll be much better off booking literally anywhere else.

Terrible This is officially a terrible place to stay. This is the second time we have stayed here and the first was about a year ago. As of today there is no longer a reason to stay here. They no longer have a bar or restaurant at this hotel. Even though they show it in all pictures but one on their website. There is a rooftop area but never anything going on. They don't keep the towels stocked and we never had any towels even in our hotel to use for the pool. Luckily we brought out own. They have more people than they have chairs at the pool. There are about 42-45 rooms and only 20 chairs at best. So you have to wait until someone gets up and leaves. Anyone checking in late doesn't get a spot. Parking is terrible. You might get lucky if you get a spot even though they say there is a spot per room. Thats completely false. The inside of the room smelled really bad and it seems like they tried to cover it up with air freshener/cleaner. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place especially now. Make sure you're aware that their website is not accurate.

Not clean! Very dated!!! This place is so dated. 1980’s decor. Floors not clean and ants and cockroaches in our room. We came for wedding reception and were so disappointed with the unclean very dated resort. Couldn’t get internet to work a good part of the time. The place was very expensive for what you get.

Great Place to Stay! Location, Location, Location!!!! The Fusion Resort is absolutely beautiful, the rooms were spacious and equipped with everything you need. It was such a joy to wake up to a water view every morning and it was pure pleasure to enjoy coffee on the balcony watching dolphins play. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. While there, we witnessed several weddings, the hotel natural backdrop is a perfect setting to celebrate a special day.

GREED Stayed there after hurricane Helene but had to evacuate for hurricane Milton after which they wouldn’t let us return because they were receiving more money from FEMA so gave rooms to residents who were getting FEMA mone. At first they seemed sympathetic to residents who lost everything until GREED took over.
