Birthday Celebration I live in Florida so I had many choices of places up and down the west coast to spend a few days celebrating my 75th birthday with one of my friends. I researched for a couple of months, kept coming back to this Fusion Resort due to what they had to offer as in a condo like atmosphere and not just one room with two beds. Having two bedrooms and two bathrooms while traveling with a friend was ideal., we were so pleased with having our own private space. Beds were very comfortable. I found a great price on Groupon for two nights stay. (After getting there and loving it we wanted to stay longer)! We had read some not so good reviews about it being unclean so we were reluctant, but so happy we didn't pay those any heed and booked the hotel. Turns out everything was very neat and clean and modern inside and out. Having underground parking was perfect for keeping my car out of our Florida sun and heat. The staff had signed a b'day card for me with a bottle of wine left in the room, and gave me a b'day upgrade to the premium suite, (full kitchen and with a washer and dryer in the room). We so enjoyed sitting out on the balcony morning and night watching the beautiful views. We soaked in the pool and noted how quiet and relaxing it was there. The walk to the beach was easy and shorter than it seemed on the map. One day we did drive tho, plenty of parking. Easy walk to the restaurants near the beach. "Foxy's", the little restaurant down the street from Fusion had the most excellent food. (If you love good down home cooking it's the place for you. Best Belgian waffles ever)! One day we drove the very short distance to John's Pass. Always a fun day there of eating and shopping. Hats off and thank you to the Fusion staff who were all so very nice/friendly and helpful. We never felt like we were just yet another customer and forgot about. Without a doubt we will go back there.

Hotel at a Glance: FUSION Resort

Nestled in the picturesque setting of Treasure Island, FUSION Resort is a refined and modern hotel that caters to travelers seeking a tranquil escape. Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, the resort boasts a scenic location that offers direct access to the pristine white-sand beach. The guest rooms and suites are elegantly designed to provide a haven of comfort, and the property offers amenities suitable for both leisure and business travelers, including a fitness center and meeting facilities. It is an ideal choice for those seeking a tranquil and restful stay by the Gulf waters.

Treasure Island, Florida: Three Miles of White-Sand Beachfront

Treasure Island got its name after a group of enterprising hotel owners buried—and later “discovered”—a couple of fake treasure chests along the beach. In spite of their farce, the name stuck. So all right, you won’t find any buried treasure here, but surely you can console yourself with 3 miles of white sand along the Gulf of Mexico. Head to the middle of the island for extra-wide beaches lined with shops, restaurants, and bars. There’s also a walking pier that runs parallel to the shoreline between 104th and 119th Avenues.

A great way to explore Treasure Island and nearby beach communities is by taking the Suncoast Beach Trolley. It runs along the Gulf coast from St. Pete Beach to Clearwater, stopping at many popular beaches along the way. Just across the bridge, St. Petersburg’s charming waterfront downtown is also worth a visit. You’ll find art-deco buildings, broad streets lined with palm trees, and the Dali Museum, which displays many of the paintings, sculptures, and melted timepieces of surrealist master Salvador Dalí.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location The hotel is beautiful and the staff were all very friendly. The location is amazing for sunrise and sunsets. We have 3 kids ages ranging from 2-9 and they all loved it. The rooms have so much space which is great. I would say the only negative was the room wasn’t cleaned enough for the week we were there. The bathrooms and the floors really did need a good clean. The bins did get emptied but it’s needed a clean too. That would only be my feedback. We did love it and would defiantly return. The pool was lovely and we never had trouble getting parked. The returns and bar is shut as I don’t think they have fully recovered from the hurricane but it didn’t make much difference to us as there is so many good places near it. I was worried with some of the reviews on here but some people really are picky! Enjoy.

Lovely place to stay, highly recommended! Great, modern hotel with beautiful waterfront views. Clean and comfortable rooms with quiet a/c and plenty of towels - often a problem in other places we’ve stayed in this area. We only stayed one night but all of us had the best sleep in ages. The beds were so comfortable. Having read other reviews, I am really surprised by some of the comments. We had no issues with parking, the staff were friendly and the room was great. Would definitely recommend.

Nice Hotel but Not Quite a Resort We enjoyed a lovely stay at Fusion Resort Waterfront Suites in July 2025 for 6 days. My comments are a mixture of positive, negative, and hopeful aspects of the experience. Positives: The room was indeed a waterfront view from the main living space, master bedroom, and deck. Watching the sunset each evening was a plus and meals on the deck were delightful. Watch out for the birds, though, because a seagull swooped in and grabbed a sausage link from our plate. This seemed to invite other birds to survey our location for a couple of hours. The kitchen area was well stocked, and the bedrooms and the general living space were nicely furnished. We unnecessarily bought a coffee pot, so ask the front desk before you purchase something because they may have items you need in storage. Also, if you want to attach technology to the television, bring the appropriate cords for your devices. There is no beachfront at the hotel, but the beach is a little less than a half mile from the hotel and the beach parking lot is convenient. The pool and whirlpool at the hotel were very refreshing and generally not too crowded; a benefit of staying in a smaller hotel. Hotel staff were very accommodating, especially Megan, the afternoon/evening desk host, who accommodated us when we asked to change rooms upon arrival. Negatives: (1) The mattress in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable, something we complained about after the second night. No response. After the third night, we insisted upon a new mattress, as one of us sustained scars from the metal poking through the mattress. When we complained more vigorously, the hotel sent someone to check the mattress. Wonder of wonders, the mattress was upside-down on the bed, and we had been sleeping on the underside of the mattress!!! Housekeeping staff were very apologetic and corrected the problem, and the right-side-up mattress was very comfortable. (2) The housekeeping supervisor was a new hire and just getting acclimated, which meant we had to ask almost daily for additional towels and to have the kitchen trash emptied. Hopeful: I’ve been intentional about calling the facility a hotel, as it functioned more as a hotel than a resort. It has potential for becoming a resort, but the vibe is not there. I saw that they once included a water service, but the bottle was empty and calcified. There was coffee in the lobby. Music was playing in the pool area, but there were no other opportunities for entertainment. The rooftop lounge area, for example, would have been a great space for a jazz ensemble or drinks and a dance party on weekends. There are several nice seating areas on the grounds, so consider a guest host who could facilitate engagement. Also, since there is no kitchen, room service and meals were not available. Perhaps a catered meal or an evening hors d'oeuvres gathering would add the resort feel. The SIPS portion of the hotel’s signage was missing. Make this hotel a resort, please! I recommend the hotel because the prices are reasonable enough, especially for a family or group stay. But do not expect a resort.
