Hotel at a Glance: Golden Nugget Las Vegas

The Golden Nugget Las Vegas has many of the attractions the Sin City is known for—a casino, a spa, high-end restaurants, and lounges—and none of them disappoint. Their spa offers the height of luxury with a sauna, jetted tub, and steam room as well as workout facilities. The casino features a poker room with 13 smoke-free tables and special promotions throughout the year. If gambling isn't your strong suit, there are many different shows and entertainment options to choose from including dancing at the nightclub or take in some live music with the 52 Fridays Concert Series.

  • Eat, drink, and be merry at the hotel's multiple high-end restaurants and lounges, including a hearty buffet where you can dine for either breakfast or lunch.
  • Views of the Strip are visible from Rush Tower rooms, which are 20% larger than Gold and Carson Towers rooms. All accommodations have luxurious amenities such as marble bathrooms and flat-screen TVs.
  • Game on: The hotel’s casino has won numerous awards from Casino Player magazine, including Best Casino, Best Service, and Luckiest Casino. The expansive gaming floor is filled with slot machines, as well as blackjack, roulette, and mini-baccarat tables.

Beyond the Las Vegas Strip: Old Vegas and Red Rock Canyon

It can feel like the entire city of Las Vegas revolves around the Strip if you never venture beyond that neon-lit corridor. But there’s plenty to see and do once you step off Las Vegas Boulevard. You can find a taste of Old Vegas on Fremont Street, where vintage signs and showgirls crowned with headdresses recall the days of Sinatra and Martin. Beginning at dusk, a canopy of more than 12 million LED lights erupts in a psychedelic light-and-music show every hour. For an aerial view, zoom down the center of Fremont Street on a zipline.

Nature puts on its own show at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, a landscape of fiery-red sandstone formations and limestone cliffs just 17 miles outside the city. Motor down the 13-mile scenic drive or ditch the car and strike out on any of more than 20 hiking trails that course through the region’s otherworldly topography.

Maybe it was? Maybe not? Hotel is super along with Casino. My issue was with the Chart House. I've had sea bass from across the USA. I know people who don't eat sea food won't understand but sea bass and Chilean Sea bass are different in more then name. I don't care for the taste of Sea Bass and Love Chilean. Read between the lines here-- I did not like the "Chilean Sea" bass at charthouse. Fact is I didn't eat it all it just didn't taste right. With that said the service was fantastic ant Aha was fantastic. My wife's steak was perfect.

Bad service What a joke. No sign about what time they close on a game night. I sat there for 40 mons watching the game and nobody took my drink order but kept serving other tables. Little did I know those table had paid before so they kept servicing them and not me. What a joke. Service is a joke. Awareness of the rules….a joke. Just a joke all all around. Couldn’t even finish watching the game the. New Orleans, where I’m from, would never do this joke. You are a joke. You are a joke. With bad service too. A joke with bad service is the worst.

Lots of room issues I had booked 2 Gold Tower rooms through AAdvantage hotels. When we arrived they use screens to check in which would be fine but the reservations were wrong bed types so we had to wait for help twice. We finally get a text saying our rooms are ready but we’re in the Carson tower. Wrong again. So had to go wait for help once again. They tried to argue that, that was what we booked. I showed the original reservation which clearly showed what I paid for. They fixed it and we head to the rooms. One room was fine but the other was dirty and the AC was out so it was like walking outside. Went back and had to wait for help once again. They move us to the Rush Tower which is suppose to be newer and nicer. They charged me an extra $40 per night which I was fine with but the rooms still need a lot of work. The ceiling in the bathroom was in really bad shape and had been patched and never finished. The cabinet door where safe is fell off when I opened it. Normally we wouldn’t stay downtown but my parents were with us and prefer it. It’s obvious these casinos are hurting and not putting money into upkeep. The check in process needs a lot of work.
