The water park is the centerpiece of the many family-friendly activities at the sprawling hotel, which boasts a theme park’s worth of games and entertainment. When you're not playing, you'll stay in comfy guest rooms that include amenities such as flat-screen TVs, kitchenette equipment, and free Wi-Fi.

  • Eat well at the Grand Country Buffet, or head to Papa Grand's Pizza for a full salad bar and a pizza bar.

Branson, Missouri: Family-Friendly Theaters and Concert Halls in the Ozarks

If you take a drive through the Ozarks in Missouri, it might seem like an unlikely place to find glittering lights and stage shows—for the most part, it's a rolling plateau of wooded hills, snaking rivers, and limestone bluffs. But follow down Route 76 and you'll find Branson, which looks like a miniature, more family-friendly version of Las Vegas. Dozens of stages and music halls line Branson's main strip, some of which are owned by stars such as Dolly Parton. On any given night you can watch anything from country music performances to circus acrobatics to magic shows.

If you're traveling with kids, Silver Dollar City is a safe bet; it's located about 5 miles west of the strip. The popular theme park is built around Marvel Cave and modeled after an 18th-century frontier town. Here you can hop on a mine-car roller coaster and take a tour by lantern through limestone caverns.

Disrespectful staff Absolutely disgusted with our stay at Grand country this trip! We have been coming for 15 plus years we are season pass holders and appalled how awful the staff actually has became over the last couple years! We're a party of 9 traveling with 5 Children they're rude, disrespectful and over all give no cares! We called the front desk about people smoking weed on the balconies right outside our rooms she informed us it's legal in Missouri (which I knew we're from Missouri) and their policy stated that you could smoke just not around the building so I guess balconies are not considered the building __‍♀️ then in the water park one of our toddlers came in the wave pool with our 15 year old and the lifeguard had a fit we corrected our kids as she was walking back to our table where 2 adults was sitting another toddler ran to the EDGE of the wave pool I yelled at him to not come in the pool that his siblings had just got in trouble for it! The life guard then blocked my daughter from exiting the pool then said life guard stated mouthing to all the other lifeguards so I walked over there to ask her if their was a issue if I could help her with yes I was big mad at this point that my daughter was being treated in such a way! So we all removed ourselves from the wave pool beside one of our children he was doing his thing minding his business I was standing back keeping a eye on him and she then told me I couldn't get in her pool (I didn't want in HER pool) I was watching my child so I walked over and told the manger what was said and she said she'd talk to her and she did but the disrespect was outrageous!!!!!!!! We've LOVED grand country and visiting MULTIPLE times a year I guess we'll have to try a different water park next time _

Young Family Vacation Win Smooth check-in on Thursday night and the room was very clean. Absolutely no complaints there! We paid extra to stay closer to the waterpark which was nice with smaller kids meaning less walking. There are stairs and an elevator at least in the hotel rooms right off the main road. I never really heard the car noises from outside except for occasional sirens. The a/c ran well and kept the room at a good temp for us. The water park opens at 10, but there’s a little indoor pool with a hot tub that’s open sooner or the out door pools that are open 24/7. We were always out early to swim in those and then got into the water park right away which was nice as we got to have fun in the slides, wave pool and tree house without all the people right away. Some of the water was cool but honestly it wasn’t bad and I strongly dislike being cold and swimming. The life guards are definitely watching so follow the rules. We made our own food to save on money. They do provide smaller towels at the park but I’d bring towels especially if you check out the outdoor pools. There is complimentary code and ice tea at the grand country buffet and concession but we didn’t take advantage of that this time. The water park and pools were clean as were the bathrooms. They had nice bathrooms and with showers and changing area as well. We really enjoyed our little family vacation here. It’s simple, clean hotel with waterpark. Would stay again!

Disappointing and Hostile Family Experience Unacceptable Experience and Disappointing Service I am writing to express my profound disappointment with our recent visit to your water park. As a group of nine, we were all looking forward to a day of family fun, but the experience was consistently subpar and frankly, quite upsetting. While we came to enjoy all the attractions, the condition of the park and the behavior of the staff made that nearly impossible. The wave pool, a major draw and a key reason for our visit, was not operational. This was a significant letdown, as it is a core feature that distinguishes a water park from a regular pool. This was especially frustrating as this is the second time we've visited and found it to be out of service. This disappointment was compounded by other issues, including several broken pieces of equipment in the children's play area. With attractions out of order, the value of our visit was already greatly diminished. Most disturbing, however, was the behavior of the staff. The lifeguards were overzealous and frankly, harassing, constantly blowing whistles and scolding parents for having children even a short distance away in the shallow end. This kind of aggressive policing of families created a hostile and stressful environment. I was particularly appalled by how one mother with her young children was treated. We paid for a day of fun, not to be treated with disrespect and a complete lack of decency. If the excessive and overbearing lifeguard behavior stems from liability concerns and fear of lawsuits, a more reasonable and customer-friendly approach would be to implement a waiver system upon entry. This would allow parents to acknowledge and accept responsibility for their children's safety within reasonable parameters, rather than subjecting paying customers to constant and unwarranted harassment. As a large group, we all left feeling that the park is not a place for children to be children and that the environment is hostile to families. It's truly a shame to spend so much money on an experience that delivers so little. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. I trust that you will consider the gravity of our experience and respond appropriately.
