Ocean City, Maryland: Family-Friendly Boardwalk next to the Atlantic

Along Ocean City’s century-old boardwalk, you can savor wild-caught blue crab, play old-fashioned arcade games, and watch candy makers spin colorful saltwater taffy. The lively boardwalk, which stretches for 3 miles along Maryland’s eastern shore, helped earn Ocean City a spot on USA Today’s list of the "10 great places to have some fun on a boardwalk." Kids can ride a Ferris wheel and climb aboard one of the country’s oldest carousels at Trimper’s Amusement Park, a family-owned theme park open for more than 100 years.

Assateague Island National Seashore—a 37-mile stretch of salt marshes running from Ocean City down to Virginia—offers a peaceful reprieve from the boardwalk’s constant activity. The island’s famous wild horses gallop on the shores, and you can climb up a vintage, candy-striped lighthouse, or hike the seaside forests to spot birds, including great horned owls, ruby-crowned kinglets, and great blue herons.

Would stay again Great location to the beach. It is a bit of a walk to the main parts of the boardwalk but also on the quieter end which is what we were looking for. The cafe downstairs was available 24/7 and food was good, slightly pricey but that is expected. The breakfast restaurant on the 6th floor tasted great and sitting outside was really nice. The room has a small refrigerator and microwave and countertop which was awesome. The rooms could use a bit of updating but the pillows and beds were very comfortable. The view was spectacular. The black out curtains were greatly appreciated for sleeping in. The room we stayed in needed a good carpet cleaning. Someone at some point must have sprayed their feet with sunscreen and there were two large foot prints on the carpet. It was gross to see.

Great views with amentities Parking is plentiful and included in your stay. If you can't find a spot around the entrance, there is a multi-story garage with an elevator.

Great Hotel Great location The Hotel is great. The staff goes out of its way to make sure you are happy. The location is great also in walking distance to a bunch of stuff. The rooms were clean and very big. The only set back is that the keys get deactivate easily which is a little annoying.
