Cancún: Cool White Sands and Mayan Relics

Located on a barrier island shaped like the number seven, Cancún’s Hotel Zone juts into the Caribbean Sea at the northeast tip of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. With the sea on one side and freshwater lagoons on the other, it’s a popular spot for sailing and snorkeling. Although the beaches and barrier reefs are a major draw, the geography is equally enticing further inland, where you can dive into an underground river or take a speedboat through a mangrove jungle.

The stone columns of El Rey Ruins, an ancient Mayan site dating back to the second and third centuries BCE, lie within the city’s Hotel Zone. Believed to be a royal burial ground, the archaeological site is also home to wild iguanas that lounge in the sun.

The condition of the rooms were not great the pipes made a sound all night the voucher says ocean view but it more garden view with a partial ocean view and the peacocks make noise all night!!! So if you have an issue sleeping through noise good luck. The food was mediocre at best. Put it this way I bought a 3 night voucher and checked out a day early and paid to stay at another hotel. It was more an expensive but I was still happy I did it, then I finally felt like I was on vacation. There also is always a line up at the front and you will be there regularly because the room keys are always resetting if you them close to your phone or credit cards I had to get the reset multiple times in a day. I’ve stayed there twice before 8 and 6 years ago but, the resort has definitely gone downhill from then. Grand Oasis will not see me again.

Well well well, how should I begin this amazing experience. So I booked a 5 days at this wonderful and amazing resort and was definitely so worthy and smart move to make. This resort is huge!!! It has amazing restaurants with delicious food and drinks. The pools areas are great and amazing as well as the beach. The staff were amazing. The hotel food is horrible and they only three good places to eat. You need to make reservations to eat at those places. The hotel is under construction which starts at 8 am in the morning until 5 pm. The rooms are ruin down and the place look old. The hotel also has Covid19 restriction and everything close by 11:30 pm.

Awful service, everyone there was rude, no room service, they didn't provide covid testing like it said on the description they wanted to charge us. The food was awful the food on the buffet looked like it had been sitting all day the only good thing was the beach. Would never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend. To get to our room we had to walk all the way around. We got an Oceanview room and had a palm tree in our view so don't believe when they say Oceanview. You can barely see ocean.
