Located on a barrier island shaped like the number seven, Cancún's Hotel Zone juts into the Caribbean Sea at the northeast tip of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. With the sea on one side and freshwater lagoons on the other, it's a popular spot for sailing and snorkeling. Although the beaches and barrier reefs are a major draw, the geography is equally enticing further inland, where you can dive into an underground river or take a speedboat through a mangrove jungle.

Student/Youth Policy

A Student/Youth Traveler is defined as any individual aged 17 to 25 years old traveling without a parent or legal guardian. This policy applies to all Oasis properties during the Spring Break season (February-April).

  • Mandatory Insurance Fee: A non-refundable $30 USD per person insurance fee is required for all Student/Youth Travelers and must be paid cash at check-in.
  • Travel Consent for 17-Year-Olds: All 17-year-old travelers without a parent or legal guardian must present written consent from their parent or guardian. This consent must authorize international travel and confirm that the parent/guardian assumes full responsibility for the traveler's actions. For every nineteen travelers who are 17 years old, one adult chaperone (minimum age: 25 years old) must stay on the property for the entire visit.
  • Student/Youth Traveler Groups: As a general rule, Oasis Hotels & Resorts only accepts Student/Youth Groups a at Grand Oasis Cancun (this does not apply to family travel).

Check-In Age Requirement: The legal hotel check-in age in Mexico is 18 years old. Each room must have at least one occupant aged 18 or older. Guests under 17 years old are not permitted to stay at any Oasis property without a legal parent or guardian present.

The room was great the Air conditioner was awesome and the space in the room was nice. It was super clean and all the restaurants at the resort were wonderful. Overall I would def go back again. My stay was great.

Best place to go in Cancun! I have been coming to this same resort for the last 20 years, they have always been great ,gracious, friendly, this time is no different, they had to cut back on some amenities due to the economy, but I had a medical scare and they were so good to me, the food is still excellent, there's some places that we were not able to go like we were last year, but our bartenders at gecko bar Hugo, raul, Lorenzo, are fabulous, Gaby in the tatish restaurant is spectacular they are the nicest people ever , I will continue to come here and so should everyone else.

Non-existent customer service / rude staff / lack of managment I booked and prepaid for a 4 night stay at the Grand Oasis Cancun hotel for my son. His 1st flight on American Airlines was 7 hours late into DFW so he missed his connection and the next flight wasn’t until the following day. I called the hotel to let them know. Upon check-in the next day, at 1:30pm local time, the hotel informed my son that he was a no-show so they gave the room away to another customer (that I had paid for) and had to wait until 3pm to check in to another room. The “supervisor” was beyond rude and sent him to 3 different locations to try and check in. After finally checking in, the room a/c couldn’t be lowered to anything below 75 degrees, the food was horrible, the staff did not make them feel welcome and the bar was understaffed. It took an unusually long to time get drinks. I requested reimbursement for 1 night’s stay and all they could say was they regretted that we didn’t have a good experience. Please avoid this hotel, although the price my seem appealing, you get what you pay for. Also, please know that if you call the hotel, you won't be able to speak to anyone. There is no recourse for sub-par service and there is no management to work with.

Last time ever I have been to this hotel 4 times the first time the stay was really great. So I decided to bring my mom and we really enjoyed. The 3rd time was with my mom’s sisters. My mom really like the hotel and wanted her sisters enjoy it as well. The problems started there. booked through a 3rd party and got really bad rooms…the showers were missed up and air conditioning was broke in 3 out of the 4 rooms I got. I noticed the hotel was under construction so I thought that it would improve. This 4th time I got the rooms through their website. Keep in mind that the 1st through the 3rd time I stayed, I got through a third party. This time I thought the rooms were going to be way better since I paid directly through them. I also didn’t expect to be awarded anything just better service since I paid them. The rooms smelled like mold. The sheet smelled like mold. In the shower the hot water was not working. The metal that’s pulled to start the shower would fly off and a stream of water would come out of there. Most of the waiters were very friendly but there some that would be very rude and would not come for request from us. This will be the last time I will be going here.
