Grand Pine Cabins, a tale of two stays: September 2023 & June 2024 June 2024 was my second stay at Grand Pine Cabins, occupying cabin no. 3. I previously stayed at cabin 10 in early September 2023. Cabin 10 is superior to cabin 3. Cabin 10 is roomier overall, particularly the bathroom and shower. It has a king size bed, whereas cabin 3 has two queens. The shower in cabin 10 had consistent flow of hot water. Cabin 3 only could sustain hot water for a few short minutes at a time. Although cabin 10 is at the corner of Pine and Apple and could be noisy at times, it only shares one wall with adjacent cabin 9. Noise from next door was not a real issue. Cabin 3 is set between cabins 2 and 4. I could hear the neighbors at times. In both instances, the cabins were very clean. While there is no maid service during stays, the management provides new towels, etc. upon request. The one queen bed I occupied in cabin 3 was more comfortable than the king sized bed in cabin 10. I found it to be too hard, but mattress firmness is a personal taste. The location is outstanding. Grand Pine Cabins is only a block or two away from Wrightwood’s “downtown”. Restaurants are within easy walking distances. Recommended are The Village Grind for coffee, Evergreen Cafe for breakfast and lunch, Mexico Lindo for dinner, and Mile High Pizza for . . . pizza. The local market, Wrightwood Fine Foods (formerly Jensen’s), is well stocked. The deli is very good and the market has good produce and a huge selection of beers. So, to sum up. Grand Pine Cabins is well located, with cozy cabins. The lodging is a bit pricey for what it is, but there aren’t any suitable alternative accommodations in town. The other motel rates only one star and reviewers’ descriptions make it sound like the “Bates Motel” in “Psycho”! I love hiking this area, so I plan to be back and stay at the Grand Pine Cabins - but I’ll definitely try to get cabin 10 again.

Great place to stay! Grand Pine Cabins is wonderful! We were so happy with our stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved our cabin, it was cozy and had everything we needed. And you can’t beat the location right in the middle of town. Absolutely recommend staying here if you’re in the area!
