Interesting first-time experience at CT GWL We have been to GWL locations before and knew what to expect especially arriving on weekend but when we arrived on Fri AM, kiosk check in was a breeze and then literally within 5m, we got text the room was ready. The room was very basic no frills but it was clean and acceptable for the stay. It was nice to see so many elevators but wish some were at the far ends of hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly and lifeguards were very attentive. The rides on Fri were understaffed and on Saturday, it was so crowded, we left and came back at 5pm when lines were shorter which is frustrating for the price paid. We also found parking fee to be ridiculous, so we parked in garage down the hill which was very easy. We also passed on expensive dining options and ate instead at Foxwoods as well as went to Dunkin inside Foxwoods by Hard Rock as prices/waits were insane. Hot tub was so small. Overall great place for little kids but for teenagers, 2 hours max is all needed so probably better staying in foxwoods and getting day pass. Would not re-visit and stick with PA resorts.

Absolutely horrible The absolute worst experience. What was supposed to be a fun weekend for my children ended up being the most miserable memory. The paper-thin walls led to two sleepless nights. The first night we dealt with being placed right in front of the elevators and having to listen to guests in other rooms partying and yelling all night. You can hear every little noise. Such terrible construction. After waiting hours to change rooms for our second night, we were put next to a mechanical room with extremely loud machines keeping us up all night. The customer service is slow, you spend more time waiting in lines and waiting for food than actually enjoying yourselves. Don’t waste your money! Take your family somewhere else. Absolutely not worth it. 0/10

Great Family get-away- lots to see! Overall this was a great family get a way. We traveled with our 2 young kids, and 2 other families. We spent 2 days and 1 overnight. We got a "den" style room which means bunk beds and a queen bed. Theres no door to the bunk bed area. However because of all the swimming and activities the kids went to bed easily. There is plenty to do. I was surprised that the room was a little beat up for it being relatively new. Rust stain in the grout on the bathroom floor, and broken faucet. But otherwise great customer service ( especially the Dunkin Donuts manager on Monday morning) I also like that there were short ride lines on a Sunday and Monday in the waterpark. The level of chlorine in all the pool is understandably high, even after washing the bathing suits the smell of chlorine is still obvious. The food area gets the AC-draft from the non/waterpark side so I recommend packing cover-ups for the kiddos.
