I like Fitchburg better , no real bad reason, I just liked that the walk to the pool area wasn't so cold. Other than that everything was great I guess. But I feel like Fitchburg is special with the 2 separate waterpark areas and just cozier.

With proper planning, a great family vacation We booked an 11-person, 2 night family trip to Great Wolf Lodge back in the spring before the resort even opened. I have to admit I was considering cancelling after I read the negative reviews shortly before our trip, but the rest of the family wanted to go. I'm so glad they did. GW Lodge really exceeded my expectations. But I think the main reason we had such a good experience is because we were prepared for the negatives. 1- We were warned to do pre-check in or get stuck in long lines, but the pre-check in online didn't work. However, I called ahead and was able to get the QR code that let me check in at the kiosk. Goof thing- the check-in line was all the way down the lobby and around the corner! 2- We were warned that the food is mediocre, expensive and the lines were terrible. My daughter laughed at me when I packed cereal, milk, bagels, cream cheese, my toaster, Keurig and paper goods. Seriously, it took a small amount of time and effort, and it was a GAME CHANGER. One of the mornings my daughter-in-law went down to the lobby to get a Dunkin coffee, and was back in 5 minutes saying the line was 30 people deep. We had 2 nice leisurely breakfasts together in our spacious suites! For dinner we talked next door to Foxwoods and had real food. Alto Strada had something for everyone. The resort was clean, well run and super fun for our gang of kids ages 1 to 6. Towels are included, and there are nice locker rooms with private showers and changing areas. Go to the water park early for the shortest lines. We got there right at 10 and had the place to ourselves.

Plan accordingly First time in CT location. Check in was fine, room ready time and clean. $25 to park is crazy. Only dining available was Fireside. The food was good but very expensive. $145 for two adults and one child (no alcohol & no dessert). The waterpark closes at 8 and you cannot access the hot tub area. Dunkin on premises was great and convenient although higher priced than regular storefronts. Every fun activity costs extra- bowling is $9pp, mini golf is $24.99 per family, climbing structure is $10pp, etc. The waterpark quick service food was actually decent. For a family waterpark, opening at 10am is RIDICULOUS. Most kiddos are up by 8 and running wild around the lobby waiting for the waterpark to open. The water play area is quite small in comparison to others we have visited. That being said it's convenient that ll water attractions are in the same "room". Some concerns: thong swimsuits that don't belong in family atmosphere, staff members cursing as they were stocking the ice cream shop, life guards snacking/drinking while supposedly watching swim areas, body tube attendant was rude, my child was given green bracelet (all rides) even though he isn't tall enough... one attendant saw and noted "someone gave him that and shouldn't have" but didn't correct it.
