Take out a loan before you go! Just finished our overnight at Great Wolf Lodge. 4 kids, 2 adults. Pros- Kids will enjoy themselves, place is brand new so rooms are in good shape, new and different. Cons- $25 parking fee- seriously!! Food is scarce and lousy. Pizza or Chix tenders and pricey or $20 burger Drinks have a QR code you need to swipe to get drink- you have 15 seconds and if you go for ice first you will not get a drink. They don’t even tell you this ahead of time. Watch the kids or you’ll lose your money and drink. Buffet will set you back $200- how much do they expect kids to eat? Otherwise you are eating fast food. Dunkin’ line in the morning had to have 100 people in it. Magic wand is $25 and the topper for it is $20- ripoff! Everything is an add on Just for reference- 4 kids and 2 adults set us back $1000. FYI- don’t misplace the beach towel- they will charge you $15. Once again I look around and can’t fathom how average families can afford this place! Be warned $$$$$$$

What a mess! We spent one night at the CT location for our daughter's birthday. While our daughter enjoyed herself, it was truly one of the most frustrating travel experiences we've ever had. Customer service and communication does not appear to be a priority amongst their staff. To start, when you pull up to unload, there are 3 lanes and its utter chaos. If there even is a staff member outside, they don't go out of their way to give any direction. The check in process was ok for me, but I have read horror stories in other reviews. The water park was OK. There was one instance where when it was our turn to go down the water slide, we stood there for a solid fifteen minutes twiddling our thumbs. The machine that sends the water tubes back up was malfunctioning, but apparently the staff member running things couldn't be bothered to tell us that during one of the many times she walked by and looked at us. The last straw for us was when we went to gather our belongings and check out. We had paid for late check out (2:00 PM instead of 11:00 AM). When we went back to our room at 12:30, we were locked out with our belongings still in it. My husband went down to the front desk to address the issue, and they tried to tell him that he had to wait in the check in line, which was about 50 people deep at this point. They also told him that we should've told them at check in that we paid for late check out - even though we had included this add on when we booked the stay. To add to the aggravation, the new bracelet they gave him was for a room that wasn't even ours! We find this to be very concerning - imagine if the bracelet to unlock your hotel door got into the hands of the wrong person. While my husband was downstairs, I spent 24 minutes on the phone trying to reach someone in customer service, to no avail. Another guest down the hall was also locked out of her room at the same time, despite having late check out. I hope the other Great Wolf Lodge locations are managed better than this one!

Not Worth It!! I was incredibly disappointed with her experience at the new, Great Wolf Lodge next to Foxwoods. There is absolutely zero organization. And the staff acts like “how dare you talk to me“ if you even ask a question. You either have to pay $25 per day to park there when you’re already buying a room there, or you have to park over at Foxwoods and walk five minutes back. In the ark itself, it’s every man for himself to get a tube and most of the rides worth doing, you need to have a tube for. Instead of handing people tubes, letting them ride the ride, and then taking the two back for the next people, it’s a free-for-all to grab a tube, and then people hoard them, and nobody else gets to use them. And none of the lifeguards seem to give a crap. They don’t seem to be doing much of anything, honestly. The hallways of the hotel absolutely smelled rank. Only one of our bracelets worked to open the door to our hotel room so we always had to be together. Otherwise people would get locked out. Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing experience that I would never recommend anybody. The lines, the smells, the attitudes… None of it was worth it. Oh, and make sure you make a reservation for their piece of crap family restaurant. They only take reservations for their Ponderosa type dining. Absolutely ridiculous. Oh, and the waterpark doesn’t open until 9 AM and it closes at 8 PM. So there’s no chance of ever having any time there where it’s not completely overpacked. And when you have to check out of your hotel room by 11 AM and you can’t even get into the water park until 9 AM, it’s almost not even worth doing an overnight. You may as well just do a day pass. Stay at Foxwoods and be happier.

Not So Great Wolf Lodge — Smells, Long Lines, and Extra Fees We recently stayed at Great Wolf Lodge and were pretty disappointed with the overall experience. The hallways on both the second and fourth floors had a strong, unpleasant odor — especially on the fourth floor where our friends were staying. Check-in was a total mess. We waited about 40 minutes with no staff outside to direct traffic or explain where to park. If you want to park near the hotel, they charge $25 for “premium parking.” Otherwise, you’re stuck parking in the Foxwoods casino garage and walking over. The waterpark closes at 8 PM, and nearly everything else in the resort shuts down by 10 PM — a surprise for a place that markets itself as a family destination. We expected more evening activity options, especially for kids. Food options were extremely limited and underwhelming. Breakfast was either a long wait at the buffet or a 20-minute line at Dunkin’. The rest of the meals were the usual kids’ fare — chicken fingers, fries, pizza — with very few healthy options available. Definitely not great for adults or families looking for something more balanced. The rooms don’t have safes, which was frustrating since we were heading to the casino and had to carry our valuables around all day. I agree with other reviewers — the place feels like you’re constantly being nickel-and-dimed.

Not enough staff, not transparent enough, expensive, and nickel and dimed We tried to stay one night over the weekend. We got there 5 hours before their official check-in (when access to your room is supposed to be guaranteed). I’ve never once been anywhere where I checked in early and didn’t get into the room early. Our room wasn’t available until over 2 hours after check in. I asked if they were short staffed with housekeeping and this was confirmed. The management shouldn’t have allowed full room booking (it was sold out on our weekend) if they didn’t have the staff available to manage the number of rooms. Multiple people were waiting hours to get their room done. On top of all that, everything was extremely expensive and everything cost extra. They even cap how much fountain soda you can get after paying $5 for a 20oz cup. I might recommend a day pass where you don’t eat there but I wouldn’t recommend staying over until they become more affordable and get their act together. In this day and age everyday living is hard enough, raking your patrons over the coals for every penny and not providing them a service they paid a premium for is unacceptable. The one silver lining is they gave us a full refund of our booking when we decided to leave instead of stay. Their staff is also very nice, so that’s a plus.
