Orlando, Florida: World-Famous Theme Parks and Cultural Surprises

Located in the center of Florida, Orlando may be forever associated with the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks—the world’s most-visited entertainment resort. Spanning roughly 30,000 acres, it encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, five golf courses, and the Disney Springs® Area. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. Walk across the park to sample Moroccan cuisine for lunch, or ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. Before heading back to the hotel, take in the nightly fireworks, laser, and water show. One of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is also home to Universal Orlando—which includes The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—SeaWorld, and Gatorland.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando's vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which hosts family-friendly improv shows five nights a week.

Big resort with tons to do. It was clean and nice except the hallway carpet had a smell. But the lobby and the apartment was nice and clean. Loved the pools and the waterpark.

Excellent Family Resort! We LOVED the Grove! Units are spacious and clean. The amenities/waterpark/pools were clean and so fun to use! On site food was convenient and good. Poolside bar was great! The kids (and adults) loved the game-room in the evening Yes, it’s a bit of a maze but you’ll find your way around the building and learn your shortcuts. We will be back in October ‘26!

Disgusting beds/possible bed bugs. Poor management. I am leaving this review as we left this resort in the middle of the night due to very poor cleanliness. Our room was 1410 and our first night there after settling down and showering we get ready for bed. My kids had planned to sleep on the pullout sofa and as we go to get that mattress ready to our surprise what we found was absolutely disgusting (see pics). We couldn’t tell for sure but the mattress looked to possibly have or have had a bed bug problem. In a panic we call the front desk and they stated they would send a security guard??? (Which we found odd) to come examine. We had to call them twice as there seem to be no sense of urgency. When the security guard got there he took one look at the mattress and stated we should probably move rooms. I call the front desk and they look for other accommodations for us. They call us and give us a new room #1437 and do go ahead and comp our night for the night which I thought was the right thing to do. However still hesitant to move after being freaked out by what we have seen my husband went to pullout the mattress out of the sofa over in the other room. When he examined the mattress he found black dots in the seams of the mattress that he could not identify. At this point we are panicking and have made the executive decision to leave as we did not feel comfortable staying there so we left. They did refund us, and like I said this was the middle of the night so apparently no manager on site at the time so I did request for a manager to call me the next day to discuss because they obviously needed to change protocol and possibly look for bed bugs. It’s been two days and we have yet to hear from them. I would have liked to hear from a manager at least an apology as we had to abruptly leave and search for a hotel in the middle of the night with 2 young kids which almost ruined our whole vacation. Very unprofessional. They did refund us on our stay which is the right thing to do, but best believe I will never return. I’ve stayed in many hotels/condos as we travel a lot and I have never seen anything so disgusting. I’m still traumatized and hope we didn’t bring anything back with us.

Awful Experience / No Sufficient Chairs, Selp Cleaning, Self Services and Absolutely Horrible Service. This is the 2nd visit to this resort and it has been very difficult to enjoy my 6 night stay. I regret booking this resort and will never book again. Compared to 1st visit everything has changed. 1. NO SEATS OR UMBRELLAS FOR HOTEL GUEST bc day passes are arriving w. Large groups taking over the resort for paying hotel guest. 2. Had to sit by the pool on the floor for 3 consecutive days because of no seats. “ Manager claims the CHAIRS are Being refurbished which is a blatantly LIE. 3. Pools are OVERCROWDED by day guest making our stay not enjoyable or safe for kids. Too crowded too loud too busy. 4. No Towels at the pool, only for day guests. Hotel guest have to bring towels and wash them daily on their own. 5. Bag checks creating long unnecessary lines in the AM. 6. No activities for kids other than pool, compared to few yrs back with kids dances and group activities. 7. No In-room Houskeeping. 0% 8. If you want room cleaned, you have to pay the housekeeping fee, hence why the hotel looks the way it does. 9. Poor Services at the management level at the pool. 10. Save your money and do not book at the Grove or you and your kids will be sitting on the floor as others with day passes are allowed to take over the resort and hotel guest are left on the floor.
