Cleveland, Ohio: Rock ‘n’ Roll City on Lake Erie

It may be a cliché to say that Cleveland rocks, but there is a reason Cleveland is home to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The city was founded in 1796 on the shores of Lake Erie and is split by the Cuyahoga river. A renaissance within the city has ensured that there are many activities and sightseeing no matter if you are on the east side or the west side. Cleveland showcases an eclectic mix of architecture. The impressive stained glass dome atop Heinen’s Grocery and the art deco postmodern mashup known as 200 Public Square can be experienced on a short walk from The Hampton Inn Cleveland.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is one of Cleveland’s most visited attractions. Visiting the iconic building means you will be surrounded by artifacts that testify to the careers of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson and so many more.

After you explore the Rock & Roll Hall of fame, you can shift your attention from music to nature at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, which counts sharks and stingrays among its 5,000 creatures. During your visit you can watch them swim overhead as you walk through the 230,000-gallon SeaTube. Before you depart Cleveland, make sure you hit up the West Side Market for Cleveland’s best gyros and pierogis or raise a pint at the city’s beloved Great Lakes Brewing Company.

Horrible Hotel I am so disappointed. I stayed at a Hampton Inn in Columbia, SC. That hotel was very nice and was excited to stay at another Hampton in Cleveland, OH. I just stayed for 1 night while passing through to Chicago. This place is a dump. It’s very old, outdated.. Unfortunately we were not informed they were in the process of remodeling when we booked. There were construction workers throughout the hotel. There was a plastic covering part of the lobby next to the reception desk. Their fitness center was out of order. The elevator doors had many handprints on the inside and outside of the door. The blinds in the room were very dark. I felt like I was in a dungeon. The carpeting must be 100 years old. They also had a flyer that the water was going to be temporarily interrupted for a few hours. The complimentary breakfast (potatoes and sausages were cold. No microwave, bacon or oatmeal. I was told that it was due to the upgrade I mentioned this to the front desk receptionist upon. checkout. She said floors 6-15 were already remodeled and the rest of the hotel was due to be completed in April, 2024. They should have given me a room on one of those floors. They should have closed it while upgrading. I’m really surprised in the condition of this place considering it’s in downtown Cleveland. I should have kept driving to Chicago instead of staying here. So if you don’t mind staying at a place while remodeling is going on, then this place is for you. If not, keep driving until April__.

The staff is super nice and friendly and knowledgeable Mark and I had a peaceful quiet stay cay night in downtown Cleveland after a nice Pho dinner at the corner restaurant. Our room was on the top with king bed overlooking the petite park. Breakfast was hot and fresh. We would definitely be back for round two.

Not worth the trouble Clean hotel. If you book through hilton honors app don't be decieved. They do not have self parking option unless you want to self park blocks away and pay the parking garage fees. Very deceptive. I guess I was just supposed to know this because it is a downtown hotel. I am not from here and trusted the app. Stupid me, right? Also staff is dismissive when discussing this issue. 48 dollar valet parking for a Hampton inn is ridiculous. Never staying here again. 100% not worth the trouble.
