In January 2026 the hotel is renovating but there was no noise problem for me. The staff is very nice and my room was fine with good blackout drapes and comfortable mattress. It was very clean and I got daily maid service. It is near St. Agnes RC Church, UN, Grand Central Station, and lots of food takeout places. Buffet breakfast included.

Midtown East Manhattan: Iconic Sights and Shops Along Fifth Avenue

Midtown East refers to a 17-block stretch of central Manhattan between Fifth Avenue and the East River. The area is known for some of New York’s most famous landmarks, including Rockefeller Center, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, and Grand Central Terminal (one of the world’s most-visited tourist attractions). Though in recent years Grand Central has filled with upscale restaurants and shops, it still serves as a major transportation hub with subway lines, Metro trains, and ziplines heading all over the city.

A stroll down Fifth Avenue is a world-renowned shopping experience: the street is filled with luxury boutiques and flagship department stores, including the original Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. For a little tranquility in the middle of the city, follow Fifth up to the southeast corner of Central Park. Just a few feet off the street is the Pond, which is spanned by a stone bridge. A little farther north, you’ll find the heart of Central Park Zoo.

Great location & affordability Location was far enough away from the crowds and bright lights but only a few short blocks from it all, including Grand Central. Room was small but clean. Breakfast was great but there was ALOT of people so patience is a must! Very friendly front desk.

Great value!! Great value! Room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and convenient. Located less than 3 blocks from Grand Central Station was very convenient. Staff were kind and helpful. I will definitely stay here again!

Just Okay We stayed at the Hampton Inn – Grand Central on the 21st floor and overall the hotel was decent, but not without its drawbacks. The room was very cramped, especially for a single-bed room, and there wasn’t much of a view — just another building with an active construction project. The location is good, but the hotel itself could use some updates. The towels and washcloths were clean but dingy, so I recommend bringing your own if you’re particular about linens. One of the biggest issues was the heat. Our room was extremely hot. I had to open the windows and turn the AC on just to make it comfortable. The hotel was fairly quiet, except for the normal sounds of the city outside. The lobby is small with very limited indoor seating, and they offer valet parking. Overall, it’s a convenient place to stay for the location, but don’t expect comfort or luxury.
