Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle: Scenic Downtown at Confluence of Rivers

Downtown Pittsburgh is only 2 miles in diameter, but it manages to pack in a wide range of sights in its relatively small area. Amid the skyscrapers here, there are hundreds of bridges and more than 20 miles of dedicated bike trails that run along the rivers and beyond. The nearby Oakland neighborhood is lined with family-friendly attractions. Here, you'll find the city's popular art and history museums and the Phipps Conservatory, which boasts 23 gardens, including an elaborate Victorian greenhouse and tropical garden.

The city's history dates back more than 260 years, and it's worth it to take a walking tour from the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, during which you can learn about the area's rich past and reenact George Washington's famous victory breakdance at some of the city's Revolutionary-era forts. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh's cultural district features art galleries, theaters, and several public art displays.

Small room, not much parking, curtains didn’t cover the entire window and we were right under the outside lights so we had to use hangers and improvise

Glad the stay was only one night Ours was a one-night stay. The hotel overall was clean and well-located, and the staff were kind and attentive throughout our stay. The poor breakfast room attendant seemed overworked. I do want to mention a design choice in the room that may not work for everyone. The bathroom has a sliding door that does not lock, and with an inch or so gap, which offers very little in the way of privacy. For couples or families who arecomfortable with that setup, it might not be an issue—but for others, it can feel awkward. It’s something I wish I’d known in advance, as it would have influenced our booking decision. Hopefully, it’s an area the hotel might consider improving for future guests.

Small rooms but adequate We stayed here well we toured university of Pittsburgh with our daughter. Overall, the hotel was fine. One thing that we really did not like was the sliding door for the bathroom. Makes it kind of awkward when there's a family situation there.

Always Good for a Quick Stay We always have a good stay at the Hampton Inn. It’s not fancy but is very reasonable and super close to Pitt campus. Free Breakfast in average at best but overall it is clean, very comfortable bed and friendly staff. 25$ to park hurts the pocket a little. But recommend anyway.
