Exotic hotel that transports you back in time! I was pleasantly surprised walking into this hotel for the first time. My flight got cancelled and the hotel I usually stay at was booked so I had to find something else close to the american dream mall and MetLife stadium. Walking in immediately took me back to the 80’s and 90’s when my father used to take us to fancy huge hotels around the country. The Hilton and Sheraton were both hotels that my father used to frequent . It turns out this hotel was once a Sheraton and then a Hilton and is now privately owned. The entrance to the hotel inside and out is impressive. In fact, my son was amazed. He said it was the biggest hotel that he had ever seen and you can just see his eyes light up when we walked in. His exact words were:” this is Gucci!” lol .I booked a King suite corner room with the city view. To be honest, I couldn’t believe what I paid for the room when we got into it. Besides the impressive architecture and design, what impressed me the most was the staff. Every single person I met left me feeling like five stars. Lutfi, was the first to greet us in the lobby and he definitely made us feel welcomed and like we were in some exotic place and hotel lol. He was quite a gentleman and sparked conversation with my son immediately getting him to engage. The next day I met Karen who I believe is from the Dominican Republic. I’m not gonna lie, She’s the nicest cleaning lady I’ve ever encountered in my whole life and I can’t tell you how many hotels I’ve stayed at over the years. The same day I met Karma in the shop and a very kind polish lady (I forgot her name!) . I enjoyed my conversations with them but also the quality and variety of items that they had for sale! It’s really convenient to have a store in the hotel and you don’t see that that often these days. they pretty much have anything you might need that you could’ve forgot or would need on a trip. I then met Pia at the front desk. She was also great and I learned a lot about the hotel from her and who has stayed here. It was pretty shocking to hear the names and groups of people that come to compete at the MetLife stadium etc. Names like Messi, LeBron James, etc. This hotel is almost like a well kept secret. It was built in 1984 and renovated in 2013. more than that I learned that it is the largest hotel in the New Jersey area with over 400 rooms and 21 floors. I stayed on the 15th. the following day I met Sam and another very kind cleaning lady from Costa Rica. Sam was very kind and friendly and he definitely left an impression on my heart as cheesy as that may sound lol . all in all the experience of this hotel took me back to the 80s and 90s when people took the time to have a conversation and treat you kindly. It almost felt like I was transported back in time to a different age where people were kinder and more patient! had a great experience, and I will definitely be coming back!!
