Perfect location Loved the location, the staff and the food options! So easy to enjoy the riverfront, take the ferry across to the USS New Jersey, walk around and enjoy the area - also within walking distance of all the major historical attractions and the bus tour stops right close to the hotel Location was key! The front desk staff and restaurant staff were very kind and helpful. The food was great at Ellis Coffee and the restaurant. As others have noted - the rooms do need some updates in the bathroom area - but not a big deal. Front desk kindly stored our luggage before check in and after check out so we could enjoy the area the day we arrived and left

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Often called Philly—is the sixth-largest city in the U.S. and a major historical and cultural hub. Founded in 1682 by William Penn, it played a pivotal role in American history as the birthplace of the United States. The Declaration of Independence (1776) and the U.S. Constitution (1787) were both signed here, and the city even served as the nation’s capital from 1790 to 1800. Known as the “City of Brotherly Love,” from the Greek phílos (love) and adelphós (brother), Philadelphia is rich in both heritage and modern appeal. Must-see attractions include Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art—famous for the “Rocky Steps.” Visitors also enjoy exploring Reading Terminal Market, Eastern State Penitentiary, and the vibrant neighborhoods of South Street and Old City. Outdoor lovers appreciate Boathouse Row and the scenic Schuylkill River Trail. And of course, no visit is complete without sampling local favorites like the Philly cheesesteak, soft pretzels, and hoagies. Whether you're drawn by its history, food, or arts scene, Philadelphia offers a compelling blend of the old and the new.

Between good and meh Everything seems pretty good at first. Nice location, friendly check in. But it’s the details that matter, and that’s where this hotel falls short. You notice the outlet in the base of the lamp by the bed is falling out and doesn’t work. And the shower gel pump is empty. And the toilet handle is broken and the toilet runs all night. Then at check out you mention the toilet was running all night, and the person at the desk just says, “oh.” This is a hotel with potential, but it needs some love.

Nice stay on the waterfront We only stayed two nights while in the city for a wedding but we enjoyed the waterfront location and the room. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed, nice sheets , towels and a mini fridge. The location was convenient for our event as well as being within walking distance to Independence Hall and some great cheesesteaks at Oh Brothers. I would stay here again.

Dated rooms but perfectly fine Stayed for one night with our kids in two rooms. Checkin was super simple, manager was very nice and helpful. Rooms definitely need to be updated- bathtub was kind of peeling and bottom of dresser was scuffed and dented. Not a big deal at all but I can see what other reviewers mean. Ellis Coffee was a perfect addition- lots of coffee choices, fruit cups, yogurt, bars, chips, drinks etc. We did not eat at the restaurant. Checkout was easy too and our bags were stored at the desk until we were ready to leave. The self-parking is weird. You go in the garage and take elevator to bottom floor. You use walkway to the hotel and then take another elevator into the hotel. Kind of a pain, we would valet next time.

The Fall of a once great property - this place is a STAY AWAY now at all costs property It had been 20-some years since I stayed here and in 20 years this place went downhill... badly. I should have known when we went to check in to our room and there was trash outside of our room. Glasses and such from someone, not us. Housekeeping never bothered to pick it up when cleaning our room earlier. When we got in the room, the shower was peeling. Large strips of whatever were coming off if you pulled at them. Lastly with the room - the AC didn't work, which in mid-winter is not an issue but in June when its 96 outside that is a problem. The engineer came up and he tried to fit it - he never got it fixed and offered us a fan for the room... yes you can guess - we never got the fan. Two other notes --- 1. I called the front desk for almost 20 minutes straight to report the AC issue - no one answered, but when i went downstairs two employees were there and apparently they had turned the ringer volume off... WTF! 2. I suspect one of the front desk employees had let their friends into the pool as there were two large groups of people (20 plus people) at the pool who were not associated with the property as guests.... that was not a huge deal but it made for cramped quarters... and since the AC wasn't working the pool was more than necessary to get cooled off. Just a terrible stay... terrible and a long way down from what I had experienced all those years ago. Shame on you Hilton Penns Landing for allowing a property with such a great location to be turned into an example of what lack of leadership and quality standards does to a property.
