And I have to mention my favorite detail: the hallway bubbler. Yes, I’m from the Midwest, and yes, I called it a bubbler We stopped at Tapoco Lodge last minute and were welcomed like old friends. The staff immediately offered us a 30% discount on the Mandolin Room (bed & bath), and it turned out to be absolutely perfect for what we needed. No TV — which honestly made the stay even better. Quiet, cozy, peaceful. We enjoyed dining on-site and every meal was great. The staff throughout the property were friendly, warm, and incredibly accommodating. And I have to mention my favorite detail: the hallway bubbler. Yes, I’m from the Midwest, and yes, I called it a bubbler. Seeing one in a historic lodge in North Carolina made my whole night! The history of this lodge was also fascinating to learn about — it added even more charm to an already beautiful stay. A wonderful, welcoming experience in a gorgeous setting. We’ll definitely be back.

Lovely place for dinner Our family really enjoyed our dinner here. The setting for outdoor dining is so pretty with the fires lit and the nighttime lighting. The staff were absolutely lovely and I look forward to visiting again. 100% would recommend.

Best hidden gem in the Smokies! I cannot express how truly incredible the entire experience was! I’ve used this venue for both business events and personal vacations, and not only is the location absolutely stunning, but the staff there really make the experience top-notch! Sherry has been a true gem to work with for both my business events and my personal vacation. She goes above and beyond to help curate a seamless experience for everyone, and Tapoco would not be the same without her!

Disappointed Disappointed.. Staff in general less than friendly . Our bedroom had cobwebs hanging from overhead bedroom light as well as in the screens which made the view of the river less than majestic. The property does command a high fee per night and the bar could at least provide snacks. Bathroom sink drained very slow. The property appears to be lacking proper maintenance in general. Overall.. my money was not well spent.
