Everything was just "ok". We ended up changing rooms because the thermostat couldn't heat the room properly. It's and old building so somewhat understandable. Also had some difficulty checking in, they couldn't find our reservation and it took a lot of back and forth between Groupon and the hotel.

I mean it’s pretty bad. Rooms are tiny and with really basic stuff. Old bulding and issue with homeless around area. Breakfast was pretty decent actually. Not sure if worth the price

Found open close pin on the floor and a needle cap by my bed. Toilet is crooked. Hotel didn’t have my Groupon reservation and made me pay twice. Worst experience ever.

Worst hotel in Denver. Room was disgusting. I found a needle on my floor. A/c was out. They couldn’t find my reservation so they charged me twice promising a refund which I’ve never received. Management is worthless. Never book this hotel. Cheap isn’t worth it. Should have known better.

NOT UP TO MINIMUM STANDARDS This hotel is conveniently located. The bed was comfortable. HOWEVER, we were promised a suite and got a very small room instead. There was no microwave or fridge in the room, which we expected. The room was very warm and the front desk said that the air conditioning is one temperature for the entire hotel, but they did not offer a fan. They said I could cancel my reservation with no fee if I like, but there were two conventions with 15,000 people in town on the holiday week. The reception area was a somewhat comfortable temperature, but everywhere else was very hot. My daughter arrived and complained and they offered a 25% discount and a cheap box fan was delivered to our room. Even so, we had to keep the curtains shut and the small fan running the entire time, day and night, just to keep the temperature under 80 degrees. I guess the upside is with the fan running continuously, it helped muffle the sounds coming from the other rooms. There are 2 elevators. But in the 7 days we were there, one broke with people in it. So we had to use the stairs. The next day it was fixed. Great. Things happen. But while I was waiting for the elevator to get ice, there was a loud noise from the same elevator. I used the stairs as did the other 3 people who were waiting there. It took several days to get it fixed again, which made for very long hot waits for the one remaining elevator. Using the stairs was hard since the lighting was very dim at many of the landings on the way down. I did not fall, but that was only because I was going very slowly and holding on to the railings the entire way down. The room was very poorly lit. There was a bright adjustable desk lamp on the desk. The extremely small bathroom was well lit. The overhead light by the door was good. Over the bed, there were a few dim can lights that could adjust from dim to very dim, but not bright enough to read by. Those lights had only one switch on one side of the bed, which is inconvenient for the person on the other side of the bed. The small bedside tables had no lamps at all. And there was no lighting near the sofa/bed. So it was impossible to try to read, day or night, since the drapes had to be shut the entire time. The TV only had Direct TV, so no movie channels. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so the humidity of the room increased with every shower. In addition, the bathroom is so small, the toilet is at an angle so the door can actually open. There are also NO hooks to hang towels or dry clothing on. We had to hang our bath towels on the doors because the only towel rack was over the toilet and could not be used for anything bigger than a washcloth and hand towel. There were not enough outlets in the room for 3 people to keep their phones charged, power the CPAP and heart monitor, run a fan, use the hair dryer, and the coffee maker. The bathroom outlet is wired to the light switch, so anything plugged in there (phone, fan...) will not work at night. Thankfully, I always bring an extension cord, so by unplugging the TV and coffee maker, I was able to plug in my phone and the fan. One of the best parts of a Holiday Inn Express stay is the breakfasts. But they were out of orange juice for several days, and out of cinnamon buns too! Also out of the boiled eggs and yogurt. Even the breads, bagels, and muffins were not stocked. For a seven night stay, the offerings were limited and without variation except for the mediocre lukewarm potatoes one morning. They advertise the valet parking, but the "sorry, the valet parking is full" sign was up the entire week. So obviously one can not assume there would actually be parking at all. This hotel boasts a fitness room. But without air conditioning and a full wall of glass, it is more like a sauna. You could sweat to death without even working out! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I have stayed in many Holiday Inn Express locations, and this one is an embarrassment to the brand. At the very minimum, a ceiling fan would have made the stay less unbearable. And a good pole lamp by the sofa and lamps by the bed would be a huge improvement. But I strongly feel that this should be dropped from the Holiday Inn Express brand, because it is the worst one I have stayed in. In fact it is the second worst hotel stay I have ever been at. And no thanks management for a canned apology response. EVERY SINGLE PATRON WAS COMPLAINING. You know the problems there. You do nothing. So don't embarrass yourselves by replying.

I did not get that "Holiday" Feeling at THIS Holiday Inn Express in Downtown Denver, Colorado @ 1716 Tremont Place!!! At the time I went to my room after check in #670, it was so hot in there I couldn't s but was NOT told the air conditioning in the entire building didn't work properly, and now after seeing the other reviews here, it did not just recently happen...it's been going on for years at this Holiday Inn Express! I called to find out why it was so hot, and "Keisha" at the front desk who checked me in said sorry I forgot to tell you the a/c in the entire building is not working properly...but I'll have a fan sent to your room. Well I was tired. So I took a shower and then decided to sleep for a while, took my shirt off, and when I woke up, there was a FAN in the room! So, someone obviously came in the room when I was sleeping with my shirt off and put a box fan in there, didn't plug it in, just put it in there! (There was also another fan outside the door!) I had collectible Beatles 45 RPM records with me when I checked in, along with my grandfather's medal from WWII that I know were there when I checked in; (I took pictures!) These things & a couple other things are missing now! I'm just beginning! I really did not want to go through the entire "ordeal" at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown Denver @ 1716 Tremont Place, especially since it's so very close to the famously historical Brown Palace Hotel, which was one of the main reasons I chose this particular Holiday Inn Express...even The Beatles stayed their in August of 1964, regardless I can't afford $400+ to see the Beatles ' suite!!!) Additionally, there was no microwave in the room, no mini - fridge, and when I asked for laundry service, I was told there was NO laundry service available whatsoever! Having said that, the original description in the Expedia app specifically mentioned these amenities as included in the price if the rooms. To top everything off, and if that wasn't enough. I checked out on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, was denied a receipt, was also denied my $50 deposit refunded back to my original method of payment, which was a PayPal debit card with a VISA logo, and to date, 7/2/25, I still have not received my money back. I reported this to PayPal, was told that it could not be reported, so PayPal decided to file a dispute for the entire amount of $291 + change back, and before I could even submit any receipt or photos or anything, PayPal, within a mere 2 day's time, denied the claim! I did like the "free" breakfast there though, that is of course, when I was able to eat it without being watched constantly by security! Someone named Vonn an older Hispanic man would stand there in the morning staring at me, and I swear I did nothing wrong! There was a VERY nice lady from France who asked me in French if she could help.me. I tried to tell her no, but "merci, madam Well, one last thing before I end this , um, what is my honest review of Holiday Inn Downtown Denver @ 1716 Tremont Place... after I checked out on Tuesday, 6/17/25, I specifically asked if I could order something to eat from DoorDash because my blood sugars were low (I am Type Il Diabetic, fyi, and I take Metformin ER x2/200 tablets daily.) Anyway, "Keisha" said yes no problem at all, I could sit in the lounge area
