Waikiki, Honolulu: White-Sand Beaches, World-Class Surfing, and Luxury Entertainment

When they're not surfing or sunbathing on Waikiki's beach, most travelers explore the area's busy avenues lined with everything from upscale boutiques and nightclubs to craft booths and street performers. Other attractions include the Honolulu Zoo, which houses exotic and endangered species such as sumatran tigers and white-handed gibbons, and the Waikiki Aquarium, where more than 3,500 creatures of the Pacific glide throughout glassed-in galleries.

Also nearby is one of Hawaii's most recognizable natural landmarks, Diamond Head State Monument—a 300,000-year-old saucer formed by a single eruption. Hikers can walk along a trail where molten lava once smoldered to ascend to the crater’s 560-foot-tall lip.

Great hotel! The location was perfect and we enjoyed the included breakfast. The hotel and rooms are very nice, although the room was a little snug. It didn’t bother us since we weren’t in the room too much! I would recommend staying here!

Nearly perfect 4.5 stars The front desk people were very pleasant upon our arrival yesterday evening. We had stayed at this property before and didn’t really like the tiny room we had, so this time we got a suite. The room is very large on the 25th of 44 floors and has a great view from the two walls that are covered with windows. On one side we see the city, and in the other side we face the ocean. The view is beautiful and we love the feeling of seeing so much of Waikiki. We do love this room. The room has a tiny bathroom, but we don’t really care about that. The closet is a good size with shelves, a microwave oven, refrigerator, and coffee machine. The room is so spacious that there are actually two couches and a king bed in it without seeming to be crowded. There are two air-conditioning units in the room. They seem to work well. The safe is in the night stand next to the bed. I advise anyone who stays here to pay the extra money and get a suite. You may feel claustrophobic in the cheapest room. Two items took away perfection. One is the fact that the elevator did not go to our floor. We had to walk our luggage up and down from the 26th floor to the 25th floor. We managed, but we would have preferred having an elevator to our floor with the luggage. I had not realized when I booked this room that it would be like this. On the plus side, there are only 3 guest rooms on this floor, so there was no hallway noise. Being in the city means traffic next to the hotel. The traffic isn’t the hotel’s fault, but I would advise light sleepers who dislike traffic to ask for a quiet room. We heard cars, noisy motorcycles, and a couple of sirens until about 10:30. It was mostly quiet overnight. I would have liked seeing more attention given to vacuum cleaning of the carpet in the hallway and stairway. Breakfast was about as good as it gets for a chain hotel. They had everything anyone would possibly want and even blueberries and red raspberries. The coffee was good. The location is excellent with public bus service very close to the hotel. ABC stores can be expensive, but they are there nearby too. It’s a lovely walk to the beach through Fort DeRussy Patk. Enjoy the beautiful trees, flowers, and birds as you head for the beach. This seems to be a family friendly place, so bring your kids. I would have liked seeing

Perfect location The room had a beautiful view of the water! The breakfast each day was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful! The location is perfect. You can walk across a beautiful park to get to the beach easily. We felt safe with the location. The bottom floor is open but the security guard and the required room key to access the elevator was good.

Good location, parking atrocious. We checked in after arriving in Honolulu in the evening. At check in we were told that there was absolutely no parking available. We were told that we would have to try our luck somewhere else. At 8:30 at night in a city that we have never been to before thus was not ideal to be told we were on our own. We found parking 8 blocks away at the International Market Place for $60 a night. This did not start our vacation off right. The room was pretty small but it was clean and well kept. The air conditioner was pointed straight at the bed and was a bit uncomfortable so we had to put a bag in front of it to direct the airflow to other areas of the room. Breakfast menu changed every day and was nice although a bit chaotic with people not following directions that were clearly marked by the hotel. The staff were friendly except for the sales people trying to sell us something every time we headed for the elevator. We realize that is their job but once was enough, not every time we walked by.
