Waikiki, Honolulu: White-Sand Beaches, World-Class Surfing, and Luxury Entertainment

When they’re not surfing or sunbathing on Waikiki’s beach, most travelers explore the area’s busy avenues lined with everything from upscale boutiques and nightclubs to craft booths and street performers. Other attractions include the Honolulu Zoo, which houses exotic and endangered species such as sumatran tigers and white-handed gibbons, and the Waikiki Aquarium, where more than 3,500 creatures of the Pacific glide throughout glassed-in galleries.

Also nearby is one of Hawaii’s most recognizable natural landmarks, Diamond Head State Monument—a 300,000-year-old saucer formed by a single eruption. Hikers can walk along a trail where molten lava once smoldered to ascend to the crater’s 560-foot-tall lip.

Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The pool went out while we were there. Over a awesome time.. I will return when all the restrictions are lifted. They have plenty to do at the hotel itself.

Pros: Good location, clean and updated rooms, guest laundry on the 3rd floor, decent to-go continental breakfast, and ocean view. Cons: The rooms are TINY...and the bathroom was the smallest hotel bathroom I’ve ever been in. The pool closed at 5 and the mini golf course was closed due to construction. All in all...it’s was a decent hotel for the price we paid.

The stay at this Holiday Inn Express was great. All the staff was so welcoming and helpful. The room was good, but small. The breakfast was a decent grab and go. The pool close at 5pm, the hours of the pool should be extended to at least 8pm. The staff is awesome.

Rooms were a bit cramped, but I guess for the location and price can’t really complain. The highlights of staying here was alot within walking distance of restaurants, bars, Waikiki beach & all the shops on Kalakauna Ave, but the gem was this Island Country market which the deli food was consistently super yummy. Also gotta give a special shout-out to front desk employee Gladys simply the BEST.
