Orlando, Florida: World-Famous Theme Parks and Cultural Surprises

Located in the center of Florida, Orlando may be forever associated with the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks—the world’s most-visited entertainment resort. Spanning roughly 30,000 acres, it encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, five golf courses, and the Disney Springs® Area. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. Walk across the park to sample Moroccan cuisine for lunch, or ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. Before heading back to the hotel, take in the nightly fireworks, laser, and water show. One of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is also home to Universal Orlando—which includes The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—SeaWorld, and Gatorland.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando's vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which hosts family-friendly improv shows five nights a week.

Elaine Rocks! Elaine is the best! I 100% recommend this hotel, we went to a bunch of hotels and everyone was rude and acted like they hated their job.. We finally came to the Holiday Inn and met Elaine and that’s when our luck changed! She hooked us up with a room and even apologized for others actions. She truly is a life saver and deserves a raise!! We love you Elaine

Budget hotel, but a great find. This is our second visit to the Holiday inn LBV and we will definitely return. We had a king double and the bed was comfortable, the room was big and everything was clean. The pool area is great and in the sun shine for most of e day. We arrived a little early and popped in on the off chance we could get in early. Our room was ready so this was no problem and much appreciated after a long flight from the UK. The location of this hotel is a massive plus for most. It is minutes away from Disney property. We didn’t do the parks but did go to Disney Springs. It took no more than 10 minutes to get there. The reception staff were great without exception, but a special mention for Francesca who we contacted before leaving the UK with a special request. This was in place on arrival with no issue.

Good for the price. Really convenient location. Nice to have the bunk beds Hotel is a little tired but the location cannot be beat, so that really made up for any downsides. We booked a room with bunk beds. It was great to be able to separate the kids from the adults and not have to book multiple rooms. Pluses - really nice pool and the poolside bar was nice to be able to grab a drink while the kids swam. The location is convenient to EVERYTHING (though, getting in and out was tough bc the driveway is really close to a major intersection and so getting out in traffic was challenging at times). It was nice to have parking included and the parking was plentiful. Minuses - while the parking was plentiful, parking lot does not feel secure/safe - there was a camper and construction equipment (dumpster, container with materials, and construction vehicles) parked in the back. It did not feel secure to be walking around the property alone. General amenities are limited. Advice - bring a power strip or a plug in power adapter with more than one outlet. The outlets are VERY limited. Also, I would recommend bringing a door jam or door lock. Our lock did not latch securely and while it locked electronically, it wasn't entirely fully secured.
