The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants and extravagant buffets overflowing with crab legs and prime rib.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

One Star – Misleading, Dirty, and Disappointing We had six people stay at the Horseshoe last weekend, each with their own room. Two of us paid to upgrade to a “fountain view” king room. One got a king with a tiny sliver of the fountains. The other was given a two-queen room with barely any view at all. The truth is, there are two entire buildings blocking the Bellagio fountains from this hotel. Calling it a fountain view is dishonest. We booked and paid two months in advance through Hotels.com. When we asked the front desk why we didn’t get what we paid for, they didn’t care. No refund, no help, no apology. We also booked their biggest suite, thinking it would come with better service. Instead, it was dirty. Fingerprints on the windows, streaks on the doors, dirty mirrors and countertops. No glassware anywhere—not even a wine glass. When we called to ask for a couple champagne glasses, they said they “don’t offer that anymore” and could send up paper cups. Paper cups. In a suite. The whole place felt like it had given up. Nothing premium about it. Don’t waste your money here. We won’t be back—and honestly, Vegas as a whole has lost its edge. Poor service, high prices, and zero effort.

Not bad/Not great Room was nice, AC and Elevators need service. Room service was almost three hour wait. After calling and checking on the order. (Nosh) Flavortown experience a little strange, great food but service was not great. Some staff not interested in taking to go orders or even seating anyone. Lot of staff standing around not doing anything while long lines existed and being told no tables available. The servers who were actually working seemed to be doing all the work. Seemed like a lacking in good management.

Great for WSOP, lousy gym Horseshoe is great location for WSOP. The gym sucks, no bottle filling station like in the Paris hotel. Still smoking unfortunately. Buffet at Flavortown is outstanding value. Friendly staff who answered questions, or referred me to someone who could. It's the small things that matter more.
