Beverly Hills Boutique Hotel Within Walking Distance of Rodeo Drive
Just over a mile from the Hotel Beverly Terrace lies Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills' iconic palm-fringed shopping strip. A parade of window-shoppers—many of them rich and famous—comes here to peek in the storefronts of more than 100 world-famous luxury brands, including Cartier, Versace, and Gucci. It's a place steeped in Hollywood lore; scenes from the film Pretty Woman were set here, specifically those in which Julia Roberts's Vivian Ward transforms from a fly-by-night escort into a well-to-do lady.
Hotel Beverly Terrace is situated within a short distance of Beverly Hills' biggest attractions, and naturally the hotel absorbs a bit of the city's exclusive atmosphere. There are only 39 rooms here, and each is done up in a simple but stylish blend of retro and contemporary decoration. Typical of the guest rooms are a neutral color palette and custom-designed furniture and artwork, though there's a Far East theme in some, with a more vibrant color scheme of reds, sage greens, and bamboo art.
On the ground floor of the hotel is Trattoria Amici, a quaint Italian bistro. You can eat indoors or out on the patio. You can also order appetizers, wine, and cocktails from the restaurant and bring them poolside.
Beverly Hills, California: Hollywood Lifestyle on the Sunset Strip and Rodeo Drive
Countless famous entertainers and business moguls work in Hollywood and the Valley, and many of them make their homes in Beverly Hills. There's a lot of money to go around in this area, and no shortage of ways to spend it. For starters, there are many spas, art galleries, and designer shopping strips such as Rodeo Drive. For three blocks, this street is made up mostly of couture fashion stores; around that, there are 16 blocks known as the Golden Triangle, where you’ll find less expensive boutique stores, especially along Brighton Way.
Only a half mile from the hotel is the Sunset Strip, where monster-size billboards tout the latest music and movies; it's like a Times Square with palm trees. Make a day trip to see the rock clubs, trendy restaurants, and stylish hotels and shops that live here—there's a good chance you'll encounter a few celebrities and many celebrity impersonators along the way.
